Back to 3.0.1, Winbind and Solaris 9
I've gone back to 3.0.1 to try and get winbind to work with my Solaris 9 machine and NT4 domain. Everything works except user authentication. The wbinfo and getent commands do what they are supposed to. I've included a truss of 'su - ganguly' According to pamlog, the user 'ganguly' has been granted access but it is still hanging. How do I do a truss of a telnet login?

zfs inotify?
OK, so this may be a little off-topic, but here goes: The reason I switched to OpenSolaris was primarily to take advantage of ZFS''s features when storing my digital imaging collection. I switched from a pretty stock Linux setup, but it left me at one disadvantage. I had been using inotify under Linux to trigger a series of Ruby scripts that would do all the basic ingestion/setup for

NFS issue with ZFS
I have Solaris 10 U7 that is exporting ZFS filesytem. The client is Solaris 9 U7. I can mount the filesytem just fine but I am unable to write to it. showmount -e shows my mount is set for everyone. the dfstab file has option rw set. So what gives? "zfs set sharenfs" takes a long time to return.
I have an X4500 fileserver (NFS, Samba) running OpenSolaris 2008.05 pkg upgraded to snv_91 with ~3200 filesystems (and ~27429 datasets, including snapshots). I''ve been encountering some pretty big slow-downs on this system when running certain zfs commands. The one causing me the most pain at the moment is setting the "sharenfs" property on a filesystem takes a little under 7

ZFS and memcntl(..., MC_SYNC, ...)
It wouldn''t be proper to start my first post here without congratulations and thanks to the ZFS team for such an impressive piece of work. Anyway, on to my query. I''ve been trying out ZFS, with a particular focus in reducing latency in a specific application. This application has a fair amount of random writing going on in the background (which, of course, ZFS will make

OpenSSH 3.9p1 X11 forwarding
Hi, We upgraded from 3.7.1p2 to 3.9p1. The behaviour of the X11 forwarding changed significantly, it is much slower. See below the truss output (server side which runs 3.7.1p2) an check for the timestamp (6 seconds delay). Do you have any idea what may causes this behaviour? Platform is Solaris 5.9 Generic_117171-05. Thanks in advance, Andy Kocher 19279: 9.5463 sigaction(SIGCLD,
