When you are running as non-root and a setuid executable starts up it always gets its LD_LIBRARY_PATH from the system''s LD_LIBRARY_PATH and not from the environment. This doesn''t seem to exactly fit your symptoms but it may be related. The workaround would be to edit your system''s default LD_LIBRARY_PATH settings to include the directory for the dtrace probes, or to create a non-setuid version of the executable (perhaps by logging in as root).

Peter

Russ Petruzzelli wrote:

hmm.
