Re: Re: XAPI on debian - sr-create issue
You''re right scout the last line. Out looks like xapi is waiting on tapdisk to plug a key into xenstore. Perhaps a udev rule problem? Perhaps someone who knows more about tapdisk than I well be able to diagnose this tomorrow.

Hi,
during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned files on
the system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8 (or 10.8):

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
blktap fails to build on kernel 3.13 and probably older kernels as well. According to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blktap-dkms/+bug/1245009 VM_RESERVED is deprecated as of 3.7. Building with the patch described in that bug allows for

xen 4.1.1 + 3.0.0-rc5 dom0 + blktap2
Hi,
I''m currently trying xen 4.1.1 with the 3.0.0-rc5 (heard that it now
contains the xen code to run as front or back xen domain).
Everything seems to run fine, except that I am trying since a few hours
to mount a .vhd file in the dom0.
What I tried so far:
to create a blank vhd file (this is working):
host# vhd-util create -n /storage/test.vhd -s 20G
Then i try to mount the file

Mainline 4.4 switches how we detect atomicity. Follow that change when
compiling against 4.4 based kernels. We are using this in Ubuntu with
our latest kernels.
Thanks for considering the patch.

Bug#654757: blktap-dkms doesn't seem to always rebuild its module
Package: blktap-dkms
Version: 2.0.91-1
Severity: normal
After an update of the kernel in SID, I have noticed that blktap-dkms
didn't automatically rebuild itself when I upgraded my server with a
newer kernel version. My understanding is that it should have.
Also, doing dpkg-reconfigure blktap-dkms or reinstalling the package
did make it rebuild the kernel module.

This package has one or more -L/usr/lib in its build system,
which will make it ftbfs if there is libraries under /usr/lib,
while is not the default architecture, mips* for example.
On mips* systems, /usr/lib is defined as place to hold O32
libraries, and /usr/lib32 for N32, and /usr/lib64 is for N64.

Dear Maintainer,
I am trying to run the following command on a dom0 Debian server in order to mount a vmware vmdk. I don't want to use kpartx or losetup as they have poor write performance and I'm hoping blktap will provide better performance.
