Anyone using xen with full disk encryption?
I''m trying to use the full disk encryption under Debian and Xen.
Not talking about domU. Talking about dom0 and hypervisor booting off an encrypted disk.
When I apt-get install Xen and reboot from an encrypted partition, I can start xen, I can select the dom0 but after booting, it dies (appears to hang)
Rebooting the standard kernel is fine.
Thanks for any hints

xenbr0 vs. virtbr0
Just created the first completely new Xen VM with the Virtual Machine
Manager after 5.0 became 5.1 and I notice these two differences:
- there's now virbr0 instead of xenbr0. Which means I have now xenbr0 and
vitbr0 interfaces running. As virbr0 just the new name for xenbr0? If so,
can I just change that name in the older configuration files, so that all
use the same interface name?

Xen network-route : mix Public and Private IP on a Front-Back architecture
Hi everyone,
I need your help. I would like to create a front-back architecture with Xen.
My physical server has only one public Interface.
Currently, my DOM0 is using the network-route configuration:
*(network-script ''network-route netdev=eth0'')
(vif-script vif-route)*
My DOM1 is configured with a public IP + proxy_arp with DOM0. DOM1 can
connect any address on

Guest OS (linux, solaris and windows) launched on Xen Server.
I did went through this thread, but It was not completely clear.

Xen 4.1.2 PVHVM guest with Linux 3.1.0 network problem, empty MAC address (all zeroes)
Hello,
While testing Fedora 16 Xen PVHVM guests I noticed the following problem:
When starting F16 PVHVM guest I can see the vifX.0 and tapX.0 interfaces appear on dom0,
but after the guest kernel (Linux 3.1.0) starts and loads PVHVM drivers the
vif/tap interfaces disappear from dom0..
so the bridge in dom0 doesn''t have any vifs/taps connected to it anymore.
Has anyone seen that

xen3 domU on xen4 dom0
Greetings!
Trying to to run a xen3 domU on a xen4 dem0 I run into problems.
The xen server ''XEN1''(dom0) is openSUSE-11.3 (kernel 2.6.34) and xen-4.0.1.
With qemu I created an image ''M08.raw'' from the SUSE-9.3
(kernel 2.6.11) and XEN-3.0 installation CD''s.
The XEN modules were included in the installation.
In M08.raw/boot I configured grub/menu.lst:

Re: xm create: Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. One more question.
Next question:-
eth0 8000.001c2596e32b no peth0
pan0 8000.000000000000 no
virbr0 8000.000000000000 yes
Presence virbr0 in report seems strange. Direct port Xen 3.4.2 to F11 doesn''t install daemon
libvirtd ( bridge virbr0 ) , unless you wrote xen-3.4.2-(x).fc12.src.rpm yourself.
So , from where bridge virbr0 comes

I''ve looked long and hard for an answer to this and am stuck.
I have setup a Windows XP DomU on Xen 3.2-1 running on Debian and I
can connect fine to the instance via VNC but I get no networking

another on the network.
All my linux instances network fine, and I''m confused as to the issue.

it using the following manual: http://www.howtoforge.com/centos_5.0_xen
Guest image was taken from stacklet.com
Unfortunately, I can''t make domU working with public static IP.
When I use bridged networking, the guest don''t have network connection

XEN multiple bridge problem - VM won' start!
Hi,
I've been using CentOS & Xen on a server that has 2 VM's configured. The
default configuration includes one physical iface that is propagated (by a
default bridge) to the VM's.
Since I wanted to configure additional physical iface, define a new bridge
and propagate it to the viface-s of the VM's, i configured the bridge/phys.
iface and brought it up (here are

Xen Networking problem!
Hi,
I ''ve got a CentOS 5.2 server running xen 3.0 with 2 DomUs also running
CentOS 5.2.
All my boxes are up-to date.
I''m experiencing trouble with networking.
Dom0 can reach the outside world when no DomU are started. It can also
reach the outside world when only one DomU is running.
The troubles begin when I start the second DomU. At first, this new
DomU, called DomU2,
