[Xen-API] CloudLinux on Xen
Hello List, I am testing a XCP1 CentOS 5 paravirt vm with CloudLinux. http://cloudlinux.com/ CloudLinux is a great product for shared hosting and I was evaluation same on a paravirt guest. I found a strange thing in XCP. CloudLinux provides xen kernel for DomUs and after installing the CloudLinux in a DomU it actually got 32 cpus inside. I had assigned only 2 vCPU to that DomU. pass character vector in instrument field of get.hist.quote function
I am new to R so I apologize if my question is trivial. I have not been able to figure out whether what I want to do is even possible. I have a data frame of stock ticker symbols which I store into R space from a txt file as follows: tickers <- read.csv("stocks.txt", header=FALSE, sep=",") tickers <- tickers[1] / the tickers are stored in the first column >

Mapping inode numbers to file names
Let''s suppose you rename a file or directory. /tank/widgets/a/rel2049_773.13-4/somefile.txt Becomes /tank/widgets/b/foogoo_release_1.9/README Let''s suppose you are now working on widget B, and you want to look at the past zfs snapshot of README, but you don''t remember where it came from. That is, you don''t know the previous name or location where that

Conflict between NT-PDC and Samba 2.0.6
I've got a Solaris 2.6 SPARC system running Samba 2.0.6 and an NT-4.0sp5 PDC system. If Samba is running on the Sun system when the NT PDC is rebooted it (the NT system) complains that there is already another PDC in the domain. This should not be as far as I can see as I've tried specifically to configure the Samba systems not to do this and in fact prior to upgrading to Samba version

RFC: Killing undef and spreading poison
Sanjoy, in your blog post https://www.playingwithpointers.com/problem-with-undef.html <https://www.playingwithpointers.com/problem-with-undef.html> you describe a problem with LLVM “undef”, yet in your paper http://www.cs.utah.edu/~regehr/papers/undef-pldi17.pdf <http://www.cs.utah.edu/~regehr/papers/undef-pldi17.pdf> you do not suggest fixing this problem, even though in

NTFS-type directory permissions
I apologize if this is an easy question. I am a samba newbie and the answer was not really clear to me from reading chpt 12 of the documentation. We recently moved from a Windows 2000 file server to a Samba(3.0.4) file server running on Solaris. We have about 20 top-level directories with lots of subdirectories. Right now, we have the security setup so that people can only get to the top-level

XCP vm install INVALID_SOURCE error
I have just run into the following error when trying to create a debian lenny vm in XCP 0.5.0 from the command line. This used to work in 0.1.1 as far as I can remember. Here is what I did: [root@xcp1 ~]# UUID=`xe vm-install template="Debian Lenny 5.0 (32-bit)" new-name-label=lenny-test-1` VIF=`xe vif-create network-uuid=0c94af8b-da04-5417-cdd6-f4c6236aea8b vm-uuid=$UUID device=0` xe

dynamic languages - how to leverage/make best use?
Hi, Does anyone have any links to, or info on, how best to leverage the power of a dynamic language. That is coming across from Java to Ruby I''m now pondering what would be the typical scenarios where I could actually call upon the power of a dynamic language. This info could be in the form of best practice for dynamic language usage, or dynamic language patters perhaps.

continuous independent variable in lme
Dear All, I am writing to ask a clarification on what R, and in particular lme, is doing. I have an experiment where fly wing area was measured in 4 selection lines, measured at 18 and 25 degrees. I am using a lme model because I have three replicated per line (coded 1:12 so I need not use getGroups to creat an orederd factor). The lines are called: "18"; "25";

[PATCH] gpu/nouveau/nouveau_acpi.c: Fix Type Mismatch ACPI warning
Hello Marcos, I sent a serie a year ago to fix some of the ACPI handling in Nouveau and add runtime pm support for laptops with an Apple GMUX (see [0], and especially [1] and [2]). I was told that a more generic work for the runtime pm was in the work, so I let the whole serie slip away. I was thinking of resubmitting the serie without the runtime pm additions, to at least fix those warning/error

Staff Manager tutorial from "Prototype and script.aculo.us" by Christophe Porteneuve
Hi there, Taking my first steps in Prototype and reading this very helpful book by Christophe Porteneuve. There''s an interesting tutorial (Chpt. 7) on making a tree to organize staff members. The problem is that I can''t make it working in IE. In Firefox it works just great. Did anybody fiddle with it? Maybe somebody has already figured it out. IE says
