Can''t boot HVM Linux guests on Debian Squeeze Dom0
I just downloaded Debian Squeeze and installed Xen from packages, following the instructions here: http://wiki.debian.org/Xen I am able to get PV guests up and running easily, but HVM guests will not even boot. The HVM I am currently trying to run is Debian sarge, which I installed into a disk image and configured using qemu. I am running on an HP Proliant ML150G6, which has Intel-VT hardware

NUT - General Concept Question
I've been looking over the documentation and several installation guides for NUT, and I'm starting to get a little bit of a feel for what it is. But I'm still not clear whether what I'd *like* to accomplish is actually practical using NUT. Perhaps someone here can tell me if they've done something similar, or if I'm way off base. I would like to set up a Linux host as a

Re: Fw: Install problems on fresh F10
I did post to ovirt-devel but I am not a registered user, so a moderator need to review my posting before it becomes available. I will register, but right now I only have a few seconds to spare. I try to add use "Add Virtual Machine" but the "Storage" is empty. My iSCSI and NFS storage says "State: pending_setup". What am I doing wrong? Sincerely, /bs66

Oja median
I discovered recently that the phrase "Oja median" produces no hits in Jonathan Baron's very valuable R search engine. I found this surprising since I've long regarded this idea as one of the more interesting notions in the multivariate robustness literature. To begin to remedy this oversight I wrote a bivariate version and then decided that writing a general p-variate version

feedback/question on function update()
Hi, First let me say I am a big fan of R and appreciate all your time and effort. The update() function does not seem to work in a for loop. Consider the following: mdat <- matrix(c(1,2,3, 11,23,13, 12,4,8), nrow = 3, ncol=3, byrow=TRUE) reg <- lm(mdat[7:9]~1) for(i in 1:2) { reg <- update(reg,.~.+mdat[((i-1)*3 + 1):(i*3)]) #update reg twice } reg # reg should have two independent

more on Diablo II (wierd problem)
Ok, I do have Diablo II working, mostly. At the moment, it only works under TWM (not fvwm which is what I normally use) and only in -win mode. The problem is that the first time that my mouse leaves the diablo window, diablo iconifies. Not a major issue, I just have to make sure that it's before I start playing. HOWEVER, after it's de-iconified, the keyboard get's somewhat screwy. I

How do I clean up corrupted files from zpool status -v?
Hi Folks.. I have a system that was inadvertently left unmirrored for root. We were able to add a mirror disk, resilver, and fix the corrupted files (nothing very interesting was corrupt, whew), but zpool status -v still shows errors.. Will this self correct when we replace the degraded disk and resilver? Or is there something else that I''m not finding that I need to do to clean up?

Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Ah! So I can detect the source UPS in the upssched.conf and pass it as a distinct event to the shell script. That sounds like an excellent approach. Thanks! Class Naming Convention
So, this has always puzzled me a bit. By convention, init.pp contains one class, named the same as the module. However, what is the convention when the module may have multiple external access points? Say you have a module called ''syslog'' which provides both a client and a server class. I typically have used syslog::server and syslog::client. I''ve ended up using this

where is the kernel
Hey all, i used http://bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/3.4.2/linux-2.6.18-xen-3.4.2.tar.gz to try and compile my Xen kernel on debian 5.0.2 everything went well when i ussed make, make modules, make modules_install, and make install. The following files were created in the boot directory. vmlinuz-2.6.18.8-xen config-2.6.18.8-xen System.map-2.6.18.8-xen however in the arach/x86_64 there is

Can I omit respond_with.
If I don''t want xml results but only html can I omit respond_with in some actions? Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Greetings Gentlebeings, I have started deploying a number of NUT instances on Raspberry Pi machines (Raspbian Jessie) across my network. The purpose of these "nutcases" as we refer to them is to monitor the status of the UPSs supporting our network switching infrastructure and notify us of power and battery events via email. No shutdown or other actions are required. Everything is

Dom0 issues: snv_79b and Tecra M9
Hi all, I have a Toshiba Tecra M9 and have not been able to boot it dom0. This is running SXDE 01/08, snv79b. After booting under kmdb and setting moddebug=80000000 before booting the Solaris kernel (with help from Dan Mick), I was able to see mac_ether as the last thing loading, right after loading the e1000g driver. I cannot drop into kmdb via F1-A after it hangs. I''ve also

Possible critical Xen issue on Buster
Hey Xen devel team, I’ve never mailed a developer list before, but I’m worried I may have stumbled across a bad Xen/Debian packaging bug. My confidence is somewhere above “just mail -user” and below “open a bug in xen-system-amd64”. Apologies if this is the wrong usage of the list. I’ve updated to Buster, and my Xen kernel no longer boots. I believe it’s because Xen only offers versions 4.11 and

SoundBlaster 16 removal impending
(Reply directly, as I''m not subscribed here.) As you may have seen, ARC recently approved my case to remove the ancient sbpro driver Solaris. I''m intent on doing that, because it really helps with our OSS integration effort, which I''m now leading. The problem is, will this impact qemu? I''m not sure of the answer. I *think* qemu emulates an older ESS1370

Performance advantages of spool with 2x raidz2 vdev"s vs. Single vdev
Hi guys, I am about to reshape my data spool and am wondering what performance diff. I can expect from the new config. Vs. The old. The old config. Is a pool of a single vdev of 8 disks raidz2. The new pool config is 2vdev''s of 7 disk raidz2 in a single pool. I understand it should be better with higher io throughput....and better read/write rates...but interested to hear the science
