XEN 4.1 performance issue
Hi,
I migrate Xen4.0 to XEN4.1, and found XEN4.1 performance is not as good as 4.0.2. xm shutdown takes longer time, control thru libvirt take longer time, and since I''m testing PCI/VGA passthru, the "createdevice: pci" also take around 5~8 seconds comparing to 1 second in XEN4.0.2. below is my configuration, do you have any suggestions to make the performance better?

network issue, RHEL4, lack of peth0/peth1 device
Hi! I''m not new to Xen but I''m new to this list. I''m having a truely bizarre problem with Xen bridged networking at the moment. This is a new install, on RHEL4. The symptom is that any domU set up simply fails to talk to anything else. It''s there, and running, and it has an ethernet device, but there''s never any response.

Network configuration after upgrade
Hello,
A bit of history
================
1) I''ve got a normal 2.6.20 x64 Fedora 6 Linux server running several things
2) I''ve downloaded and installed the XenSource Administrator Console for
Windows
3) I''ve added 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6xen kernel, xen and vnc packages on my Linux
server
4) I rebooted the Linux server, and started xend as per user guide

Problems installing windows 2003 std and x64 as guest
I am running Pentium D 930 with 2 gigs of ram.
Fedora Core 6 with Xen enabled.
I am able to start the install and it goes to the first stage of needing to
be rebooted. I restart the Domain and it starts to finalize the windows
install. And is fine until it starts asking for serial numbers or computer
names. Then all of a sudden the guest freezes. The guest CPU goes to zero

Password unused in vnc console
Hi folks,
I''m updating my xen server from a dom0 on debian sarge, using a self
compiled xen 3.0.4 and a kernel 2.6.16, to a standard debian etch using the
deb packages xen 3.0.3 and kernel 2.6.18.
On the old server, all my hvm machines use vnc console and a password is set
into xend-config.sxp and it works nice.
On the new etch server, with the same hvms and configuration files,

and installed the Xen binaries from source. The systems boot successfully

Migration failing (xen 3.0.3 on RHEL 5) with "not a valid guest state file: pfn count read"
Hi all, I''m having some problem migrating a simple domU between two
hosts.
Short question: xm migrate (live or not) fails even though either host
is capable of running the VM. Error seems to be: "not a valid guest
state file: pfn count read"
Long question:
I have two boxes (devvmdevvmhost1 and devvmhost2) running xen 3.0.3
(RHEL 5), they are attached to a Dell MD3000 unit

Do systems have to be IDENTICAL for live migration?
I have several systems running 64bit SLES11SP1. I''m trying to Live
Migrate between a couple of them and it''s not working, although the same
VM will run on each one starting it manually.
The system are not identical. Would one expect migration to work
between these two systems? See below.
Thanks,
James

Problems migrating xen domains
Hi.
I've set up a cluster with two Debian 6 nodes, running Xen 4 and libvirt 0.9 (from backports).
My VMs run over a DRBD resource, to allow live migration between the nodes.
I've successfully tried live migration using xm migrate, now I'd like to make it work using virsh, but cannot make it. Here's the error I'm getting:
# virsh migrate efw xen+ssh://10.22.22.152/

Stub domains broken in Xen 4.0?
When I try to use stubdom-dm in lieu of qemu-dm, the guest domain crashes
almost immediately if I specify an emulated NIC (''vif='') in the guest
configuration file. If I don''t specify a vif, it works fine. If I use the
same configuration with qemu-dm instead of sutbdom-dm, it works fine. Is
there some reason QEMU emulated networking doesn''t work with stub domains

HVM creation problem
Hi,
I''m kinda new to XEN stuff, and I''ve been trying to create a fully virtualized guest on CentOS 5.3 for almost 3 months and no luck yet. I approached this process through several methods, one with virt-install and creating config file manually.
Following is what happens when I try to create a guest, and I have included qemu-dm and last part of xend.log logs below too.

Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.2-3
Severity: important
/etc/default/xen, which carries the TOOLSTACK setting, is not honored by xend init script.
The xend initscript doesn't check for the value of TOOLSTACK. It just populates it in its initscript.

xen guest won't boot after yum update
After a yum update my two guests that had been shutdown do not start
any more. I have two other guests running that seem to work okay but I
am now afraid that they won't come up again if I restart them.
I am running CentOS5 with kernel 2.6.18-8.1.8.el5xen. Previously I had
following xen versions installed:

windows 2003 install trhough vnc problem
Hello,
I want to install a 2003 guest on a Debian Etch with xen binary
packages (apt-get install), but through a vnc console (no graphical
interface). So I launch the xm create in an ssh connection, and want
to connect through vnc to complete the installation of windows.
So the domain gets created with xm create but no VNC port is displayed:

Using config file "2003.hvm".
