Bug#508139: HVM guests can't be used because there is no /usr/lib/xen folder
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: grave
I tried to start an HVM guest to setup Windows 2003 64 bits entreprise R2, and
I spent a long time figuring out that there is no /usr/lib/xen folder by
default, and this is where Xen is searching for it's file when using HVM, VNC
and all. Doing a simple symlink with ln -s /usr/lib/xen-3.2.1 /usr/lib/xen made
it working, if it's not

IvyGIS --- Rails Engine for custom maps.
Hi. I''m announcing a Rails Engine for presenting maps based on your
own data, either rendered by Mapserver, or pulled directly out of
geometric database tables stored by PostGIS. There''s a demo here:

Under this Xen setup, (Linux) HVM guests fail to have network active

In this scenario:

[LLVMdev] Debug Info and MergeFunctions Transform
Hi David,
After merging we always remove body of "G" (function we want to merge with "existing" one).
In case with "writeThunk" we could add such info for "G", but it would be just a single string: reference to first string of "G".
Ideal way here, is to merge debug information itself, and provide "F" with information for "G"

Cannot install PCBArtist. Using Lenny and wine 1.0.1-1. AppDB suggests going to c:/windows/temp/r... something or other but that folder isn't there. Tried copying the the install file to several different folders, including trying to install from the terminal. In terminal mode I get complaints about x server and setting display mode. I get a window that briefly flashes by and an error

Computer hangs when booting debian lenny netinst cd on hvm machine
Trying to install Debian Lenny amd64 from netinst cd on Xen HVM, the computer hangs and needs to reset physically.
My computer supports HVM, I''ve a HVM Windows XP installed with no problems.
Other ways to install Lenny on HVM are welcome. I tried with debootstrap, but it doesn''t boot disk image :-(

poor network performance to one of two guests
G'day, I have a host running two kvm guests. One of them gets very poor network
performance, testing with iperf I get ~10MBit/sec to guest A, >400MBit/sec to
guest B (running iperf between the host/guest). Both guests are using the same
bridge:
Guest A:

[HVM] Fix interrupt routing
If HVM guest Fedora 7 uses PIT and lapic timer, it can''t boot or
install.
The cause is:
At some point, Fedora 7 disables PIT interrupt by
"vioapic.redirtbl[2].mask = 1, vpic.imr.bit0 = 0 (unmasked),
vlapic.lvt[LINT0].mask = 1", and enables vlapic timer interrupt
generating;
In vmx_intr_assist() -> pt_update_irq(), we always choose IRQ0 rather
than vlapic timer interrupt,

Xen not booting in Unstable
pkg-xen-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org is probably a better bet for Xen
issues (CCd) than xen-devel.

DRBD and HVM hosts
Hi All,
Debian Lenny, Xen 3.2.1
Has anyone got HVM to work with the drbd resource scripts? I''ve seen
some posts in the devel such as this;
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2010-04/msg01608.html
Will this be incorporated or how can I change this in my setup?
Thanks!
Mark

Other people have this problem, too.

Interrupt rates and voip traffic
Hi,
This is slightly off topic, but here I go any way...
VoIP traffic has lot's of smaller packets, and since each packet can
generate an interrupt, is there any way to determine the irq rates in
a machine, and more importantly to know if I am hitting any of the
limits in Linux or to determine how much interrupts per second can my
box handle ?
There seems to absolutely no information about

Hi,
i want to install a WinXP as vm, but it won''t work. "xm list" tells me
that the winxp-vm is running, but I am not able to connect via vnc. nmap
tells me that there is no vnc-port listening and ps -A tells me that
qemu-dm does not work. Maybe someone could help me because i have no
idea what''s wrong..

[LLVMdev] Debug Info and MergeFunctions Transform
Hi Stepan,
After discovering several bugs in ArgumentPromotion and
DeadArgumentElimination where llvm::Functions were replaced with similar
functions (with the same name) to transform their type in some way, I
started looking at all calls to llvm::Function::takeName to see if there
were any other debug info quality bugs in similar callers.
One such caller is MergeFunctions, and I don't see

[PATCH 03/10] xen: move interrupt handling for pv guests under CONFIG_XEN_PV umbrella
There is no need to include pv-guest only object files in a kernel not
configured to support those. Move Xen's irq.o, xen-asm*.o and pv parts
of entry_*.o into CONFIG_XEN_PV sections.
