live migration in between different CPU families
Hi,
referring to thread:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/xen/users/177385#177385.
I have the same thing going on: hypervisors with E5620 Xeon CPUs and
hypervisors with E5410 CPUs. Live migrations go wrong when domU''s are
not created on the latter and move from the E5410 servers to more recent
ones. The rationale being that these CPU''s have less or other
capabilities

Why is XenCenter telling me to register my XCP box?
I think the title says it all :)
I got far enough along in the Xen documentation that the documentation recommended me to start using XenCenter to manage the server.
Why am I being asked by XenCenter to register my XCP 1.0 server? I know it''s similar, but it''s not a Citrix XenServer... ;)

Xen 4.0 Custom kernels
Hi there guys.
I''m using CentOS 5.4, I was able to compile my custom Dom0 kernel and boot
it, now I''ve got some doubts.
I''d like to compile a custom DomU image, the problem is that when I do, make
kernels KERNELS="linux-2.6-xen0 linux-2.6-xenU" it tries to download the
kernel
from the HG repository which seems to have old 2.6.18 kernels, I want to use

Debian Repository
Hi,
Im trying to install Netware and Windows 2008 server but im having
problems with it reading the ISO. Im guessing this is because im
running version 3.2.1 debian packages so i want to upgrade to unstable
and use the 3.4 deb packages.
My problem is that there isn''t a kernel package so when booting you cant
boot into xenified kernel mode. If i try and use a kernel from the

[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello,
If you''re interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6,
take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial
It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6,
and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository.
It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6.
Hopefully it helps :)

New binary release of GPL PV drivers for Windows
I''ve just uploaded a new binary release of the GPL PV drivers for
Windows - release 0.6.3. Fixes in this version are:
. Should now work on any combination of front and backend bit widths
(32, 32p, 64). Previous crashes that I thought were due to Intel arch
were actually due to this problem.
. The vbd driver will now not enumerate ''boot'' disks (eg those normally

Re: [Fedora-xen] another xen build and pvops kernel
Just wondering why kernel-2.6.32.23-170.xendom0.fc12.src.rpm cannot make itself
into F14. It seems pretty stable. Why it cannot be just a package available via "yum install" . Anyway Fedora''s Libvirt has the best compatibility with Xen 4.0.1.
It''s not too late switch back to Xen with PVOPS kernel. XenLinux 2.6.34.7 aka Suse
is really dangerous . It outperforms pvops

Hello,
I just wrote a step-by-step tutorial how to install the latest Xen 4.0.1 hypervisor
on Fedora 13 (x86_64) host from src.rpm packages, and the pvops dom0 kernel from git repository.
Check it out: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Fedora13Xen4Tutorial
It also shows how to install various Xen PV guests using the native distro installers:
- CentOS 5.5
- Fedora 13
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
