XCP NFS problems
Greetings all! I''ve just made the jump from standalone Xen to Xen Cloud Platform. I''ve been impressed with everything about XCP except trying to get an NFS SR to work. Backend system is FreeBSD with an NFSv3 server. I can create the SR and XCP creates it on the NFS server but the PBD will not plug and leaves the SR unusable. xe pbd-plug gives a return code of 32,

[XCP] XCP NFS Root
So, a few days ago I asked about network/iSCSI booting XCP (dom0). Doesn''t seem like it''s something that very many people have done, since I didn''t get much response, so I decided to give it a shot myself. I was able to install a couple of CentOS 5 packages that help with network booting and get the system to boot off of NFS (can provide some more detail on that,

XCP unattend install-answerfile error
hi,guys I try to install XCP using answerfile. I made all the environment needed well, and it works well without answerfile. However, there are so many machines to be installed, so I want to install it via unattended way. So i write a answerfile by copying the example of the manual. ------------------> label xenserver-auto kernel xenserver/mboot.c32 append xenserver/xen.gz dom0_mem=752M

Poor IO performance in hosts and VMs - XCP 1.0 b42052
Dear list, I am battling with rather grave performance issues in the 42052 build of XCP 1.0. Specifically, this concerns disk IO both on the host and in the VMs. I have tested the connectivity to the NFS/iSCSI server that backs the whole platform (Nexenta, SSD ZIL/l2arc, striping over 9 5-disk zraid1), and from a clean Ubuntu install, I am able to saturate the network both over NFS and iSCSI

I have just run into the following error when trying to create a debian lenny vm in XCP 0.5.0 from the command line. This used to work in 0.1.1 as far as I can remember. XCP & InfiniBand
I am running XCP 0.5. I have an InfiniBand network in place that I would like to use to connect to my NFS server for VM image storage. Has anybody tried getting IB to work with XCP? Is there a document that outlines the steps for getting IB to work with XCP? Also, I don''t need to expose the IB network to any of the domU. I only want to use the IB network to connecting to NFS based

XCP: disk2vhd -> xenconvert (to ovf) -> xe vm-import
Hi all, I`m evaluating methods for nightly "snapshot" a physical win2003 to xcp vm. I know it would be a lot easier and reliable just to to one convert one time and start to generate real vm snapshots, but at this time I cannot use this method. I tested the sequence: disk2vdh -> xenconvert (to xcp), but a big deal of using this method is that xenconvert does not send

XCP VM Disk Size
Hi. I have a problem when defining a VM under XCP and use templates: all VM get a same disk size when I define it. How can I define a VM disk size before it is installed using XCP templates? [xen-users - XCP] XCP freezes, making all the VM not accessible
To whom it may concern, Installed Xen Cloud Platform, XCP-0.5, but it freezes randomly, and the virtual systems are not accessible anymore. After forced reboot, all works fine until next freeze. The logs do not show any significant messages. What could I do to collect more info in the log messages and determine what is going on in dom0? Thanks, Mihai

XCP - how to login to VM locally on host machine (not using XenCenter)
Hello everyone, I have XCP installed on a machine, with a guest OS running windows 7. Is there a way to login locally on the host machine itself (as opposed to using the console view in XenCenter?). The reason I am asking is that I am trying to look at interactions between Xen and graphics cards, and I want to make sure that the graphics card is being used ( as opposed to rendering through RDP).
