deliver exits with status 89 on some but not all mails of a batch
Hi,
I'm trying to get dovecot's LDA 'deliver' to deliver mails that come in through a postfix daemon on the same box. I'm talking
about dovecot version 1.0.rc15 (on CentOS 5 as Linux-VServer guest on a CentOS 5 host).
Configuration
-------------
# /etc/dovecot.conf
ssl_cert_file: /etc/pki/selfmade/server.crt
ssl_key_file: /etc/pki/selfmade/server.key

Some Dovecot LDA version sends MDN rather than DSN for overquota.
It appears that there is some version of the Dovecot LDA that is
sending an RFC 3798 MDN rather than an RFC 3464 DSN to report
non-delivery to a user who is over quota.
See <https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134> for a discussion
of this and
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134/+attachment/1773018/+files/Automatically%20rejected%20mail.msg>
for the actual MDN

Hi,
I found the following in my logfiles:
The failure is not reproducable at the moment.
System is delivering mails to mailboxes with no problems at all.
It is a production installation with medium load.

Using LDA with postfix and virtual users
Hi list,
I have 7 virtual users in a sql database. I don't want any systemusers
or local delivery using postfix.
On the postfix side everything works fine as long as I use the 'local'
delivery agent. But since I want to use dovecot's sieve functionality I
set local_transport to dovecot. From now on Postfix seems to ignore
local_* settings like local_recipient_maps.
Here is my

Freebsd 4 error DSN stat=Service Unavailable after dovecot install
Hello everyone,
I am getting an error message on FreeBSD 4 after I install dovecot. To
start off, I create two regular users, testuser and testuser1.
I send each user emails then I install dovecot. After installing
dovecot I set up the users in Maildir format then proceed to send them
emails and here is what shows up in the maillogs:

Signal 11 with dovecot-lda
dovecot version: 2.2.13
NetBSD 5.1 on an amd64 architecture
Based on the log file, I think this problem first manifested itself when I upgrade from 2.2.9 to 2.2.12. I tried to go back to 2.2.9, but I would have had to rollback some of the other dependencies. I built 2.2.13 and the problem still exists.
Mail gets successfully delivered, but the sender get a non-delivery message. I've

PATCH: Deliver looses mail and DSN if Return-Path is missing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
Dovecot v1.0.0
if there is no Return-Path in the message and Deliver cannot deliver the
message, no DSN is sent _and_ the MTA is returned 0 (aka success) return
code, which leads to mail loss.
This is not the case, when the message actually finds a Return-Path, but
fails to invoke the MTA.
