Dell PowerEdge 2850 / Xen / Windows 2003 / Debian
Hi, recently I came across a deal on a bunch of Dell PowerEdge 2850 servers and I was hoping to use them to run Debian with Xen to provided virtualization support for Windows 2003 and other Debian installations. I was hoping to install 2 copies of Windows 2003 as well as 2 copies of Debian all on top of the DOM0 Debian installation. The servers have dual 3.2ghz CPU''s and include 16GB

tdm400p and dell 2600 poweredge
Hi all: I've been developing and testing on a tdm400p card and it's been going well. As you probably know, the tdm400p needs an ide power supply, but the dell poweredge 2600 that this card is destined for eventually has all the power supplied on the backplane with no ide cables. The thing is, on the motherboard in the server, there is an ide ribbon connector, and beside that, something

Re: Benchmarking GPL PV Drivers for Windows between0.9.11-pre13 and 0.10.0.69
Pasi, Thanks for putting that wiki page together for the dom0 kernels - it's something that has long been needed for pulling together information on those kernels. I know it's always a chore for me to find info on how to get/build a dom0 kernel if I don't like the one that's included with a distribution. Thanks! -Nick >>> On 2009/07/07 at 00:50, Pasi

effect() error: non-conformable arguments
I am trying to calculate adjusted means according to a glm model with a Poisson distribution using effect() in the 'effects' package. I've done this many times before with great success, but this time I'm getting an error. My model contains two factors and two covariates/blocks and I would like the adjusted mean and confidence intervals for each factor separately. The model runs

Why pv-on-hvm drivers?
Hi list, I''ve read about recent efforts to push pv-on-hvm drivers to Linux mainline and I''m curious to know the cause for this. What''s the advantage over using pv_ops directly and booting the kernel paravirtualized? Are there plans to move Linux domUs closer to the KVM way (from an architectural point of view)? Hope you can help. Regards, Markus

Performance Issues: I/O Wait
Hey, everyone, I''m having some issues with a Xen DomU right related to performance. We have an application that cross-compiles a Linux distribution from scratch for embedded systems. We''re attempting to run this application inside a Xen DomU (paravirtualized, modified guest kernel), and the performance is really bad. The culprit seems to be high I/O wait times related to the

Running Asterisk on a Dell PowerEdge 2850 ServerRe: Dell Hardware
It's Digium, not Dell. I have two identical Dell 1850s, each with the allegedly offensive built-in E100 Ethernet ports. I placed a TE410P card in each. One worked great, the other would not modprobe. Upon examination, we discovered that the two TE410P cards had different firmware revisions. Turns out the one with the older version was the one that worked. We sent the second card back

RedHat 7.0 on Dell Poweredge 6300
I went to RedHats' page and found hardware requirements and it said that the Dell Poweredge 6300 is a supported hardware. Then I went to linuxcare.com and it does not list the machine. Before I look like a buffoon, or continue to, Redhat will run on this machine, right? I appreciate the help. Dell PowerEdge 860, Sangoma A108
Hello everyone, I'm considering getting me a quad-core Dell PowerEdge 860 to run Asterisk. Anyone else using this model? Any tales of woe and sorrow I should know about? Then, in a couple of weeks, I'm thinking of getting a Sangoma A108 and giving that a try. Same question with that one - any quirks I should be aware of? Dell PowerEdge 1800 and TE410P
Hi, I've been asked to find a server that is capable of running the Digium TE410P card. We usually get Dell PE servers and after a quick look I think the PE 1800 has the required slot: Six Total: 2 PCI Express (x8 lane & x4 lane); 2 x 64-bit/100MHz PCI-X; 1 x 32-bit/33MHz PCI (5v) and 1 x 64-bit/66MHz PCI Has anyone got this hardware, does it work with the card and asterisk? Thanks,
