[SPAM] The Infamous "Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working."
When I start my domU, I get the infamous and UNINFORMATIVE! error message:
"Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working."
What could be the cause?
There are strange things occuring. When I boot the host, I can start
zero, one or two VM before it happens (most often zero), and then no
other VM may be started successfully.
It fails the same whether I try to boot

dom0 - tar: Skipping to next header
I setup Xen 3.1 on a etch 32 bit box with amd64. I compile the standard
Kernel from Xen and on the other way the gentoo 2.6.20 for both dom0
uand domU. The Xen Setup was bridged. But if i download a tar file, i
cant extract it cause of the following error:
09:48:35 (8.66 MB/s) - `xxx.tar.gz'' saved [64985129/64985129]

Re: [Xen-changelog] [linux-2.6.18-xen] xen: make gntdev code configurable
Hi,
Looks like this patch broke automated builds due to a lack of a matching
line in the defconfigs. Below is a patch that makes this a module for
xen and xen0, unconfigured for xenU. That might not be the best thing
here however.
Thanks

RSpec 0.7.5 with Rails and rcov
I seem to be missing something because I am at a loss on how to get
rcov, RSpec, and Rails working together. Would someone mind dropping
some hints?

blktapctrl not running
Hi,
I am running XEN 4.1 on Debian 6 and I cannot find blktapctrl process
running. xend is started. I installed XEN from 4.1 source following
instructions here:
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenParavirtOps
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Xen4.0
Should there be a blktapctrl process running in this version?
The problem I have encountered is that I can create a domain on a raw disk
image but

LAN Browsing shows IP Addresses instead of Computer Names.
I'm trying to figure out how I can have my lan browser display computer
names instead of IP Addresses. I think the ip addresses are generated by my
router since if I add a new computer, the ip addresses will be different for
each computer. anyway let me give you the specs first. Running Samba

spec''ing models with observers that send mail
I''m spec''ing a model with an observer that sends mail. Mailers behave
similarly to controllers, so to make the whole thing work, I believe
something like integrate_views has to be available. Has anyone dealt
with observers and ActionMailer?
Thanks

Asterisk and Linux-HA
Hi Srs.,

conf files and voicemail files and more with rsync, and now I want to test
with Linux-HA if asterisk is up. I'm installing Asterisk over Debian, but I
haven't a status function in asterisk script.
Any one help me to know how can I check if asterisk is up? If I switch off

nut problem on boot/restart
hi!
When I turn on my pc everything works fine, but if I restart fails (I'm not sure if this is true at 100%)?(then, i can do 'sudo /etc/init.d/nut restart' and it works)
But what is certain is that sometimes when start up the pc it works and sometimes fails, can be a problem with the start time (i have a fast ssd) and the initialization of the driver and the usb port?
thanks!

RSpec usage
Hey all,
Trying to get feel for RSpec usage so I''m taking a straw poll...
What''s the largest project you''ve used RSpec on in terms of app LOC
app and spec LOC? Also, how long have you been using RSpec in
"production" code?

PCI passthrough, poor network performance in upload direction
Hi all,
I have been having an issue for over a year with several Xen installations
and have not been able to find out if this is just something I am missing.
Basically I am trying to configure a firewall with two ethernet cards in a
domU using pci passthrough. I am hiding the Ethernet cards at boot time via
the pciback.hide kernel option.
Right now I am running Xen 3.3.0 and the two Ethernet
