VT hardware requirements
All,
I have been trying to get PCI pass through working for sometime and
need to know if I have a hardware problem (does my hardware support
PCI pass through) or if I am doing something in correct.
1) My BIOS does allow me to enable VT support
2) *cat /proc/cpuinfo*

"Iomem mapping not permitted" during windows crash dump under GPLPV
I''ve recently noticed that my windows crash dumps fail at around 40-50%
under GPLPV. ''xm dmesg'' shows the following:
(XEN) grant_table.c:350:d0 Iomem mapping not permitted ffffffffffffffff
(domain 865)
At first I thought that the cause was just a bug in my grant ref code
but it just occurred to me that this could be happening when Windows
tries to write out the

State of GPLPV and Windows 8
What is the state of GPLPV and Windows 8? I am currently running tests
with Windows 8 and GPLPV rev956 and operations (disk IO, net IO) look
good. There seems to be a problem with shutdown/reboot where Windows
hangs somewhat and displays a warning about improper shutdown on next
reboot.

GPLPV version to use
I am using a standard Centos 5.4 setup, with kernel-xen-2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 and xen 3.1.2-164.11.1.el5.
I have just succeed in migrating an existing XP to this setup and installed successfully gplpv 0.11.0.213.
On an other 2003 VM, I am using 0.10.0.134 since several months without any problem.
Looking at http://www.meadowcourt.org/downloads/, it seams there is a lot of version in that

Xen breaks aacraid
Hello,
I''m using Xen 4.0.0 compiled from source with the 2.6.31.13 kernel
that it pulls down on its own. I added support for the aacraid driver
to the kernel using ''make menuconfig'' from the
build-linux-2.6-pvops_x86_64 subdirectory, and then built and
installed the whole thing using ''make install'' from the xen-4.0.0
directory. I compiled this

alternate output for progressmeter
Hi,
I used scp in some background process for transferring large files
which took some hours.
For this I needed a less fancy output, preferable parseble by a script,
so I could regularly see how far the transfer was
The adaptions I made to progressmeter.c and .h are underneath my mail as a patch
Some sample output how it looks now:

Stability report GPLPV 0.11.0.308
Hello James,
I am doing quite rigorous torture tests with Xen and GPLPV. Let me first
repeat the test setup:
Use Xen 4.1.1 and kernel 2.6.32.36 (commit ae333e9).
Configure 2 HVMs called VM1 and VM2 as follows (per HVM): 2 VCPUs, 2
virtual disks, 1024 MB RAM, viridian=1
Install Windows 2008 R2 SP1, do install everything twice - never clone.
Install GPLPV, iometer 2006.07.27, prime95 26.6 x64,

aacraid monitoring tool?
I've got myself an Adaptec 2200 HW RAID card to play for couple of days. Tha
card uses aacraid device driver. Seems to work nicely, however just wandering
if there's a tool (prefferably CLI) for CentOS that can read out RAID
configuration data, status of individual drives, maybe even manage
(create/delete) RAID devices?
Thanks for any and all pointers.

AACRAID monitoring
Does Centos include any runtime monitor/control software for raid arrays

AACRAID controller setup?
This isn't exactly a Centos question but maybe someone here can help:
Does the AACRAID controller (as in an IBM 3550) store its config info
on the drives or internally? I only have one of the boxes and want
to load Centos 3.x on several drives which can be swapped into
servers at another location. With SCSI, all that took was a full disk
dd copy and a little fiddling with the HWADDR for the

Issues with aacraid
Hi there,
I'm currently trying to install a server with
Centos 4.3 x86_64. I have issues installing drivers from a Driver disk,
I got a driver(2810SA) from the Adaptec site,
I started it up with "linux dd"
It reads the disk fine ....
I can see the aacraid module in the list but as soon as I choose it.
Then I get a screen saying "Do you wish to load more Driver Disks?"

ext3 errors
Hello,
I have a server running ext3. The server is a dell poweredge 2500 with a
100G raid 0 on a Perc3/Di raid card (aacraid driver). I've asked about
this on the aacraid devel list, and no one had any solutions, and I'm not
the only one having this problem, because another person on there replied
with nearly the same error message as I am getting. Anyway, anywhere from

Xen 3.3 unstable on OpenSUSE 10.3 - initrd problem
Folks,
Mercurial is selectable as an installation in
OpenSUSE 10.3 YAST.
I have done the following:
hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg
hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/linux-2.6.18-xen.hg
make dist
sh ./install.sh
I tried running the following to create the initrd but it failed:
