wine + fglrx + DRI causes total system lock up
Hi all,
Here is a strange problem. I have recently installed the latest ATI fglrx driver (version 9.3). Everything appears to be fine, except glxgears only works for the root user.
It turns out I was missing the DRI section in my xorg.conf. Once I added it I can run glxgears with no problem. But now I notice my wine games always crashes the computer (black screen with total lock up, needed to

Re: pvusb drivers for pvops 2.6.32.x kernel
Hello,
Jeremy: See the included patch. If it''s OK it''d be nice
to get it into xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch.
Thanks Nathanael!

[RFC PATCH v01] Xen PVSCSI drivers for pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x kernel
Hello,
http://pasik.reaktio.net/xen/patches/xen-pvscsi-drivers-linux-2.6.32.27-pvops-v01.diff
This is the first version of Xen PVSCSI drivers, both the scsiback backend and
scsifront frontend, ported from Novell SLES11SP1 2.6.32 Xenlinux kernel to
pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch.
At the moment it''s *only* compile-tested with the latest xen/stable-2.6.32.x
git kernel as of today

Blank screen while loading AMD/ATI graphics driver (fglrx) in Dom0 (Linux 3.0/3.2) with Xen 4.1/4.2
Hi,
Xen wiki states that using linux 3.0 and above as dom0 works with all
graphics cards. I could install the fglrx graphics driver on my desktop
machine with a discrete graphics card (Radeon HD 5870), but I see a blank
screen while loading fglrx on my AMD Fusion E350 machine with integrated
graphics card (Radeon HD 6310). The graphics driver loads fine when the
Linux kernel runs alone not as

[PATCH] Compiz with Fglrx without Xgl (an hack for use-copy)
As posted few days ago by Vladimir, newer fglrx ATi proprietary drivers
supports the Composite extension (also if it provides buggy rendering
for some apps), that's why using the non-tftp rendering you could run
Compiz in fglrx drivers too without loading Xgl.
However the use-copy option makes compiz do some checks that the fglrx
drivers don't pass (I don't know why, since the

FGLRX using Aiglx??
Hi!
AFAIK FGLRX doesnt support glx_ext_texture_from_pixmap, and enabling
composite+dri is resulting in screen corruption even with 8.38.6. Then how
are you guys running it without XGL?

Karthik

Blank screen while loading AMD/ATI graphics driver (fglrx) in Dom0 (Linux 3.0/3.2) with Xen 4.1/4.2
Hi,
I had posted the following issue a few days ago in Xen-users but I haven''t
received any answer yet. So I decided to re-post it here in hope for some
solution.
Here''s the original post:
Xen wiki states that using linux 3.0 and above as dom0 works with all

Dom0 and fglrx
Hi,
I have some problems getting fglrx working under a Dom0 system.
My system is a Suse 10.1 x86_64 with kernel 2.6.16.21-0.21-smp. I
installed fglrx 8.29.6.
The CPU is a Pentium D with VT.
The modules compile without problems and load without problems. But
when I try to start X, the system freezes.
Any help?
Wouter

Compiz with --use-copy --force-fglrx
Hi,
I was happy to see the "use copy" and "force fglrx" patches, thanks to them
I was able to get compiz running om my Thinkpad R60 (that has a Mobile
Radeon X1400 card). However I can see some drawing garbage on the screen
sometimes.
The easiest way to reproduce it is to open firefox and point it to

the kernel but when i do "make world", according to
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Xen4.0, i always receive this error:

Bug xen/next.. WARNING: at /home/konrad/git/nex-VI-PVOPS/linux/kernel/irq/manage.c:274 __enable_irq+0x5c/0xaf(
Jeremy,
This one looks quite familiar. I think I pointed this one out to you the
first time I started working on pv-ops (so, June/July?) and you had a
fix for it, but I can''t remember the details (except that you did ask me
to review it, and I did, but I didn''t send any details back).
Any ideas?
This is against xen/next as of today with this commit being at the top:

Updated dom0 for pvops: now boots on 32-bit!
Hi folks,
I've finished off Xen dma support for pv_ops, and dom0 now boots!
I've had an uptime of 40 minutes so far with it. Under intensive disk
load it locks up with a soft lockup, but still, this is good progress.
I've pushed the current bits to the "WIP" (work-in-progress) branch at
the usual git repo,

CentOS5 + 2.6.32.15 PVOPS x86_32 PAE/xen 4rc6 stalls at boot
Hi,
It appears my Xen is stalling right before handing off control to the
dom0 kernel. I would appreciate any pointers on where to look next,
since I''ve already spent a considerable amount of time trying to
figure this one out and nothing turns up. One small detail, with my
previous .config, I wasn''t seeing the 4 "(XEN) MCE: MSR 417 is not
MCA MSR" at the end of the
