Can''t boot HVM Win2k8 R2 x64 DVD ISO (Viridian?)
Hi all, I''m stuck with a peculiar problem. I have CentOS 5.5 and Xen. I have numerous Windows 2003 guests and never had this problem. An application requires SQL server 2008 which is requiring Windows Server 2008. I downloaded the 2.8 Gig install DVD ISO. I create a new guest and connect the ISO as hdc. The system starts and says "Starting Windows" but hangs and no

XCP jumbo frames in vm
Hello all, Not sure if I am completely missing something but here goes. I have XCP 1.0 running without any issues. I have the mtu set on both the storage network, the corresponding PIF, and the VIF to 9000 and when displayed in ifconfig it shows that this is indeed true. I have several CentOs 5.6 VMs running in HVM mode (i.e. no xen kernel) which attach to the the storage network through these

windows and type=paravirtualised
Hi! What benefits do I get if I put "type=paravirtualised" in my network card config for a Win2k8 domU with PV drivers installed? Is it necessary, will it improve performance? I have read about this option here: http://plone.lucidsolutions.co.nz/linux/xen/windows/windows-server-2008-r2-xen-hvm-installation-with-gpvpv-drivers Thanks, Daniel

xen upgrade problem, cant boot from 3.4.2 to 4.0.0
Hi Guys! I have a very interesting problem. I run gentoo and have been running xen-3.4.2 on 2 server computers (Supermicro-based, IBM). A little time ago, I have tried to upgrade xen-3.4.2 to xen-4.0.0 (with emerge) on the Supermicro server, but the computer wasn''t able to boot with the following breakdown: [ 62.848947] 0800 1315427328 sda driver: sd [ 62.849264] 0801 208813 sda1 [

Problems with HVM S3
Hello, I am currently trying to suspend a HVM domU via ACPI. However, after "xl trigger vm s3suspend" the virtual machine freezes after 2-3 seconds (I get a prompt at xl console before that!), and keeps printing the following lines: [ 240.428145] INFO: task jbd2/xvda1-8:146 blocked for more than 120 seconds. Convert VirtualBox VM to xVM?
Hi all, I''m in the process of building a home server with OpenSolaris 2009.06. It''s main function is to serve files (hence using OpenSolaris for some ZFS goodness), but I want to host some Windows x64 VMs on it as well. Given that there are currently no x64 Windows drivers for xVM, I was thinking of starting with VirtualBox (which does have x64 Windows drivers), and then

Time sync issues with Windows guests
Hi! I have always had problems with the time of my Windows guests, but I didn''t really care about it, because I ran time syncronization software after boot, and everything became normal. Recently we switched to virtualized Active Directory Controllers which makes this an even bigger problem, because time syncrhonization is very important there, and it should be precise right at boot time
