network misbehaviour with gplpv and 2.6.30
With GPLPV under 2.6.30, GPLPV gets the following from the ring:
ring slot n (first buffer):
status (length) = 54 bytes
offset = 0
flags = NETRXF_extra_info (possibly csum too but not relevant)
ring slot n + 1 (extra info)
gso.size (mss) = 1460
Because NETRXF_extra_info is not set, that''s all I get for that packet.
In the IP header though, the total length is 1544 (which in itself

trouble with xennet gplpv in win7x64 xen(xvm)3.4
I have some real problems with the xennet, when disable and try to
enable the nic I get a BSoD due to ndis.sys
Further more the system still fails to get an IP using dhcp.
The box is after a lot of cleanup, now on the 217 GPLPV.
I could provide additional details on demand next week.
(I''m unsure to get the machine earlier in my reach due to an on site
power outage)

GPLPV xennet bsod when vcpu>15
Hello,
I installed the signed drivers from
http://wiki.univention.de/index.php?title=Installing-signed-GPLPV-drivers and
I ran into a BSOD on a Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise domU with a
large number of vcpu''s. The BSOD is related to xennet.sys.
After some trials I found that it runs fine up to 15 cores. From 16 or
more, the BSOD kicks in when booting the domU.

[GPLPV] Xennet device issues on Win2k3 x32 DomU/Disabling just one PV device
Hi there.
I have been dealing with a conundrum off and on with a VPS of mine. Windows
2003 Standard 32 bit on a Xen HVM instance. Been trying to get the GPLPV
drivers working to help boost performance but always seem to run into one
major issue: The PV network device looks like it works but actual
connectivity is non-existant. Everything else in the GPLPV driver suite
works fine.

gplpv driver signature problem under win2k8_64bit
Hi,
I am at a complete loss of ideas here:
I have a
- xen3.3.1 hypervisor compiled from source with
- dom0 being 2.6.26-1-xen-amd64 kernel from debian/lenny repository with
- windows 2008 64bit as hvm guest.
I use the gplpv drivers 0.10.0.69 from James Harper.
The included files (xenpci.sys and xennet.sys) are apparently test-signed,
so applying test-signing as boot option does enable

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL by xennet.sys, Server 2008 x64
Hey guys,
I''m trying to get a gentoo dom0 running on some new Nehalem boxes.
Our dozen or so existing servers run a xenified 2.6.21, but we can''t get the
new Intel network chipset working with it.
So, I''m giving a pv_ops dom0 from xen-tip/master a go, and Xen 3.4.1 to go
with it. rebase/master is a bit too bleeding edge for me. So far, it''s working
great.

unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with
current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them.
Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a
bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover
driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package)
that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now

GPLPV 0.10.55 net misbehaviour
I''m using W2K2 32bit on a 3.2.1 Lenny-amd64 host. While the pv disk
driver works as expected, I encounter problems with the network driver.
I tried several installation scenarios, all with the same result.
My test looks like this:
I install gplpv, but without letting the networking driver install.
After reboot I RTL8139 ist still active and working, and gplpv devices
manage the disks.

No module xennet found for kernel 2.6.18.8-xen
Hi all,
when I try to build an initial ramdisk with the option --with=xennet, I get
the following error
No module xennet found for kernel 2.6.18.8-xen
I looked at the /lib/modules/2.6.18.8-xen/kernel/drivers/xen and there is
no xennet module over there, which causes the problem.
How can I get the xennet module?
Thanks,
Luca

Stability report GPLPV 0.11.0.308
Hello James,
I am doing quite rigorous torture tests with Xen and GPLPV. Let me first
repeat the test setup:
Use Xen 4.1.1 and kernel 2.6.32.36 (commit ae333e9).
Configure 2 HVMs called VM1 and VM2 as follows (per HVM): 2 VCPUs, 2
virtual disks, 1024 MB RAM, viridian=1
Install Windows 2008 R2 SP1, do install everything twice - never clone.
Install GPLPV, iometer 2006.07.27, prime95 26.6 x64,

Initrd creation problem (Cannot determine dependencies of module xennet)
Hi List,
I''d compiled Xen-3.0.3-testing (changeset 11740) on Suse 10.0 Enterprise
Server.
The compilation succeeded without any errors but the mkinitrd command
fails(???)
The initrd is being created but when loading the xen kernel, I get the
following message repeatedly:
"azx_get_reponse() timeout"
after pressing ^c the computer continue to run...
Then, when I start a gnome

gplpv: re-enabling the nic adapter removes it
I guess I have stumbled upon a bug in gplpv drivers.
If you try to re-enable an nic adapter after disabling it, it just
hides out of blue. And you have to reboot.
Latest version of gplpv drivers and Windows 2008 R2 here.
Anyone else noticed the same issue?
I wonder if this is related to hot-plugging something like

Hi James Harper and others,
I seen that problem already discussed early, but maybe it help you make
hiding qemu devices when install gplpv driver. For now, when install
gplpv i has not working qemu disk driver (gplpv works) and not working
gplpv network (i think i can disable realtek network card and then gplpv
will work).
When you discuss German and French windows versions - you ask about

gplpv + stubdom?
Hi,
Do the gplpv drivers work with stubdom? I''ve tried to get them working
and posted to the mailing list for help but the only reply I got was a
suggestion to use config settings which appear to allow the gplpv
drivers to access the hd at the same time as the stubdom, which might
work but isnt what I was after, have I misunderstood stubdom and there
is no advantage to using gplpv
