received packet with own address as source address
Hi, we''re running 4 xen servers on our network with multiple network cards. During HighLoad we experince degeneration of inbound network traffic through our loadbalancer. I might found a reason for it, in Dom0 dmesg output looks as follows: [1157421.975910] eth0: received packet with own address as source address [1157421.975957] eth0: received packet with own address as source

ARP entry intermittently is incorrect for guest - lose connectivity
I've run into a problem on my KVM host where a single guest will be unreachable to other guests on the same host. This host has 2 bridged devices and guests assigned to each have the same issue. I've noticed that when I can't reach the problematic guest, the ARP entry for that system is incorrect. This issue seems to only be a problem about 75% of the time when making connections

XEN Virtualization & Isolation of Guest using ebtables
Hello, The basic details of my host and XEN configuration and network configuration all appear below. Whilst I have come this far, a lot of it has been intuitive so I now have plenty of questions. Firstly I would like some help and clarification with regard to ebtables and especially how it works in a Virtualized environment on Novell SUSE 10 SP1 (1) ebtables Installation ebtables was not

Proxy Arp Ip Conflicts
I must have something configured wrong somewhere. I''ve enabled proxy-arp on my shorewall 2.0.7 firewall. Works fine for what its supposed to do, I can see all the machines through it great. However, whenever its enabled, the network on the DMZ goes screwy. I''ve narrowed it down to this: when proxy arp is enabled for that interface, like such: echo 1 >

Hi all, I''m searching for a tutorial how to setup multiple network cards with xen network bridge setup in debian lenny. My problem is, bridges seams only to work if i put an ip adress in dom0 to them. ARP requests are interpreted as a martian
Shorewall 4.5.1.1 I have 5 interfaces on a centos box, the first two are internal on two different subnets, the next two are two different ISP''s and the last one is a private network for testing and administration. The second internal subnet (eth1) is rejecting all the arp requests to it and I get the following in the log files ever second or two - May 16 05:28:54 services kernel:

Network Issues/Questions
Hello, I''m new to Xen (and this mailing-list) and facing some problems with the network. I''m stuck and don''t know how to continue. And Google isn''t very helpful either... My setup: - Ubuntu 7.10 for dom0 and Debian 4.0 for all domU - 4 physical NIC (DHCP from my ISP, internal LAN, DMZ & WLAN) - 1 Dom as firewall/router - 1 domU with internal services

Proxy Arp
Hopefully this is an easy question.... I''m using a leaf router (bearing) running shorewall. Three interfaces net, loc, and dmz. Only one computer in the dmz and its being proxy arp''d. External and internal (net and loc) can reach the dmz but the dmz cannot reach the isp''s gateway and beyond, but can reach a system adjacent to the firewall.

Proxy ARP working from Internet but not from fw and loc
Hello everybody. I could not find an answer to my problem in the archive. (But that may just be me :-) ) I have a problem with proxy arp and connection from loc (localnet) and from the firewall. Works fine from internet to dmz / proxy arp and vise versa. I have a feeling the solution is simple, but I''m no guru in Linux routing etc. The problem seems to be the routing setup. loc -

RE: Proxy ARP working from Internet butnotfromfwand loc
Hi Alex, and thanks for your time. Probably not. The servers are only configured like they where when they where parallel to the fw. Just the default gateway, same as for the external interface on the fw. That''s what the documentation instructed to configure the servers using arp. But is it required with extra configuration on the server connected via proxy arp? Or is it some parameter

Setup multiple bridges for use with KVM
Running CentOS 5.4 x64. Have successfully bridged eth2 with br2 by following the instructions here: http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking (under the RHEL section) Have been running several KVM VMs successfully via this bridge. I am now trying to bridge additional interfaces by using the same routine. Each bridge is named to correspond with the ethX device its bridged with. Example of

Proxy ARP with a Coyote Point equalizer
Here is a puzzle. I have a network with several servers. It''s a mess. It''s a /24 and pieces and servers are all over the place inside this /24 block, on both sides of the firewall. For example, the router at 1.2.3.1 is outside the firewall and many of the servers at 1.2.3.nnn/24 are behind the firewall. (Obviously, 1.2.3.nnn is a fudged network.) eth0 points outward to
