PATCH [xenconsoled]: makes pty slave raw early
Hi, on my system (Linux 2.6.18.8 - ia64), if a domain write on the xencons before xenconsole is initialized the domain gets back what it wrote. This patch fixes this issue by making raw the pty slave very early. (I suppose it doesn''t happen with linux as a guest because it takes a little bit of time before writing to xencons). [PATCH 1 of 4] xenconsoled: do not write the pty under serial
xenconsoled: do not write the pty under serial in xenstore if xenconsoled is handling a consolepath. The idea is that pv consoles use the "console" prefix in xenstore and emulated serials use the "serial" prefix in xenstore. There is no need to write the pty for a pv console under "serial", considering that xenconsoled is already writing the pty under

Hi,all, the dmesg have a ring buffer size that is only 16k, so when overflows, some of the printk() messages get lost. xenconsole: Could not open tty `/dev/pts/5'': No such file or directory
Hi, i''m running a two dom0 nodes cluster for HA, and xen domUs running on top, currently it handles 5 domUs. The issue is that there''s a domU that can only run on one node, it''s not possible to start it on the other one. I get a ''b'' status and can''t access the console. Other domUs can start in either node and I can access their console without

unable to access Linux HVM via xm console - Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
Hi all I''m running CentOS 5.1 x64 + Xen 3.0 & I have setup a CentOS 5.1 x64 domU as a HMV. For the setup I used VNC, but I would prefer to be able to access it via "xm console cPanel" via SSH directly. Here''s the output cPanel HVM: [root@pc-00059 ~]# more /etc/xen/cPanel name = "cPanel" uuid = "ff940501-507d-04ca-e590-831e79ba0397" maxmem =

Re: unable to access Linux HVM via xm console - Couldnot read tty from store: No such file or directory
HVM = fully virtualized. The question is, why are you using fully virtualized domUs? Why not paravirtualized (PV)? >>> On 2008/06/16 at 16:07, Rudi Ahlers <Rudi@SoftDux.com> wrote: Itamar - IspBrasil wrote: > why you''re using hvm ? its slow > > > > Rudi Ahlers wrote: >> Hi all >> >> I''m running CentOS 5.1 x64 + Xen 3.0 & I

[PATCH v2 1/2] xenconsoled: use grant references instead of map_foreign_range
Grant references for the xenstore and xenconsole shared pages exist, but currently only xenstore uses these references. Change the xenconsole daemon to prefer using the grant reference over map_foreign_range when mapping the shared console ring. This allows xenconsoled to be run in a domain other than dom0 if set up correctly - for libxl, the xenstore path /tool/xenconsoled/domid specifies the

RE: [Patch][RFC] Support "xm dump" (is Re: Re: [Patch]Enable "sysrq c" handler for domU coredump)
Two things: 1. I''m not convinced ''xm crash'' is needed - ''xm destroy'' will do this (and if you want a dump, do ''xm dump'' followed by ''xm destroy'') 2. I don''t see the point of the --noreboot option on ''xm dump'' -- I think this command should simply live-dump the specified domain - as

xenconsoled needs restart after long dom0 uptime otherwise domU console output hangs and domU doesn''t come up
Hello list! I''ve noticed this problem a couple of times now.. so I''m wondering if it''s a known bug? Symptoms: After "long" dom0 uptime (174 days when it happened now, was something similar on previous times too) cannot start new pv domUs anymore.. pygrub runs and boots the kernel, but kernel newer gets to actually running initrd and the console output
