Problems exporting a PCI device to a domU...
Hi!
I am trying to export a PCI device (an AVM Fritzcard PCI ISDN card...)
to a domU but when starting my domU I am getting this error:
"pciback pci-4-0: 22 Couldn''t locate PCI device (0000:00:06.0)!
perhaps already in-use?"
My system is running both debian etch in dom0 and domU...
Below you can find (hopefully) all important information...
Sincerely,
Gaubatz Patrick

rsync problem
Hi everybody,
after upgrading a few CentOS machines from 5.0 to 5.2, and during that
upgrading rsync from 3.0.0-1.el5.rf to 3.0.3-1.el5.rf (both from rpmforge)
rsync stopped working and bails out with a segfault after some
undeterministic time (zero to a few seconds) during a sync.
Manually going back to 3.0.2-1.el5.rf seems to work.
Has anybody experienced similar problems?
I'm not sure if

The DMI checks that force the use of the bigsmp APIC driver are for

Looking for Prepaid Solution
All;
I am looking for a solution a motel that is switching
to VoIP. They are especially interested in prepaid services. That is, a
resident will come to the office and pre-pay for phone services for their room.
When the money runs out, service is shut off, and they need to come down to the
office again. Accurate reports are very important. A search on voip-info.org shows several solutions out

xen on suse 9.3 and software raid
Has anyone had issues starting xen0 on a md? I have installed it a few
times now w/ and w/o raid. Anytime I have a raid1 mirror, Xen panics on
boot when trying to mount /.
It gets past waiting for /dev/md0 to appear.

VM with transient disk
I want to use transient disks with libvirt.
According to [1], the transient disk feature has been supported since 0.9.5.
Hence, I have installed libvirt 0.9.6 for Ubuntu Lucid from [2] and used
the following disk configuration:
<disk type='file' device='disk'>
<driver name='qemu' type='raw'/>

[jamie@audible.transient.net: Bug#160155: gapless playback]
Jamie,
I hear what you're saying. I don't believe this *should* be
a plugin's responsibility, though it sounds like with XMMS it is.
But I don't know how to fix it. Probably with enough archaeology
into the XMMS source and other plugins I could find out. I'll file
it in the feature requests and hope someone can get to it.

Is there a hook for a plugin to do some transient operation on the mail body ...
... when the MUA has issued a FETCH?
?
I am a Dovecot newbie ... so please bear with me if this is obvious. Basically what I am trying to do is process the mail body (in my own specific way) before Dovecot serves it up to the MUA. I want to do it as a transient operation in memory. So think of the scenario as ...
? - the MUA issues a FETCH
? - Dovecot intercepts the FETCH
? - Dovecot internally

Transient Model Attributes in ActiveRecord
Hi all!
I''ve been using an instance of my model to do "query by example"..
Basically I fill in a new instance of the model and then later
interrogate it to generate my conditions for find( :all )..
Where things get ugly is that I just moved several properties into a
joined table, but I''d like to keep the ability to set those
attributes in the original model..

transient memory allocation and external pointers
Hello,
The Writing R extensions manual section 6.1.1 describes the transient
memory allocation function R_alloc, and states that memory allocated
by R_alloc is automatically freed after the .C or .Call function is
completed. However, based on my understanding of R's memory handling,
as well as some test functions I have written, I suspect that this is
not quite accurate. If the .Call
