Much difference between netperf results on every run
Hi all, the throughput measured by netperf differs from time to time. The changeset was xen-unstable.hg C/S 11760. This is observed when I executed a netperf on DomU connecting to a netserver on Dom0 in the same box. The observed throughput was between 185Mbps to 3854Mbps. I have never seen such a difference on ia64. Regards, Hiroya _______________________________________________ Xen-devel

Xen & netperf
First, I apologize if this message has been received multiple times. I''m having problems subscribing to this mailing list: Hi xen-users, I am trying to decide whether I should run a game server inside a Xen domain. My primary reason for wanting to virtualize is because I want to isolate this environment from the rest of my server. I really like the idea of isolating the game server

DomU to DomU throughput issue
Hi Is there anyone who has successfully resolved the low throughput problem in Guest communication. I am using Xen3.4.1 with PV os kernel 2.6.30-rc6-tip On fedora11. While running netperf benchmark on guests throughput results are very low DomU to DomU    0.29 Mbps Why is it so? What would be the problem. Is there any issue with fc11 platform? FC5 -- Xen 3.0.2 -- iptables with dom0 and domU
Situation: Running a simple UDP client/server program where the client on one domU on one computer sends echo packets to another domU on another computer, server sends echoes back. They do this on a specified port (will use any port between 5000-6000). This program works on non-Xen machines in various environments, Linux and Solaris. Program just hangs on the domUs. I believe I need help with

domU networking
Hi list, I''m looking for some help in getting my domU network aware. Currently I can run /etc/xen/scripts/network from dom0 to successfully create xen-br0. After I do this, dom0 can still access any network resource that it could before. However, when I start up a domU, it can only ping dom0; it fails to connect to any other ip. I don''t receive any sort of error message,

DomU strange network behavior
I am experiencing strange network behavior from several DomU''s. I can ssh from DomU to any host on the local lan/vlan, I can ping those hosts. However when I go to resolve a hostname DNS fails. I have verified that three other DomU''s are exhibiting the same behavior. I have also verified that Dom0 is functioning properly and can resolve hostnames and access hosts outside of the

Weird Network issue
Hi all: I am pretty new to xen, but ,thanks to you, I am learning fast :) I have a Dell Poweredge 2950 server running Debian Lenny as Dom0 named Asgard I have configured three DomU (Loki, Hermod and Thor) with DHCP support. All the machines (Dom0 and DomU''s) ask for an IP address to a DHCP server in the Office LAN. The DHCP server is configured to bind certain IP addresses to the Dom0

Problems with domU networking
Moi! I upgraded Xen-2.0.1 to Xen-2.0.5 (testing) and everything compiled cleanly. I''m still able to boot dom0 and start domUs but networking doesn''t work anymore. xen-br0 appears in dom0, but vif-interfaces now only when ifconfig -a is used. Interface appears in domU and all seems to be fine, except no any data doesn''t move in any direction. I can''t even ping

Frustrating experience - Xen networking.
Hello, I am having a frustrating time trying to get bridge networking working. I''ve gone over the Wiki page on the topic, a few of the howtoforge pages and everything that I am doing is failing utterly. What I want to achieve is to have Dom0 be a stub running two DomUs. One DomU being a router/firewall and the other being the rest of what is on the current machine.

(strange idea) unfriendly migration
Good day. As we all know, xen requires assist from VM to migrate it. If VM will acts wrong during migration, it will crash, or behave strangely until reboot (nice sample - default -xen kernel in lenny). We need to accept changes in domU during migration: other domain id, new vbd/vif and so on. This fine until we talks about friendly VM. But if VM is not very friendly? For example, VM''s
