X86_64 and 4GB RAM using Flat Memory Model?
Hello,
I have an odd problem on a dual processor, dual core Opteron system.
Obviosously it is x86_64 so should have no problem with large amounts of
RAM. The system has 4 GB installed (2GB on each processor).
If I boot the system with a fresh install of Debian Etch it sees all the memory
fine. dmesg reports:
Memory: 4107008k/5242880k available (1929k kernel code, 86836k

VNC console issues with fully-virtualized guests
Hi, gang. I''m having major issues with getting the VNC consoles to
accept keystrokes. I''m trying to get Windows 2003 Server SP2 to run
as a fully-virtualized guest. I get the VNC window for the installer,
but I can''t get it to accept any keystrokes (e.g. hitting the F5 so
I can tell it to use a standard PC HAL). If I opt to use SDL, I get
no console at all.

windows 2003 install trhough vnc problem
Hello,
I want to install a 2003 guest on a Debian Etch with xen binary
packages (apt-get install), but through a vnc console (no graphical
interface). So I launch the xm create in an ssh connection, and want
to connect through vnc to complete the installation of windows.
So the domain gets created with xm create but no VNC port is displayed:

I/O request not ready: 0, ptr: 0, port: 0, data: 0, count: 0, size: 0 with VNC enabled
I have a headless CentOS 5.3 box running Xen 3.3.1. The DomU (domcont)
is running off a DRBD device and the network bridge (br0) is running
over a bonded ethernet link. All network interfaces are running fine
and the DRBD devices replicate over their respective links. The DRBD
device that I am trying to boot off is /dev/drbd1 and is set to
Primary on the Dom0 that is running this DomU.

Password unused in vnc console
Hi folks,
I''m updating my xen server from a dom0 on debian sarge, using a self
compiled xen 3.0.4 and a kernel 2.6.16, to a standard debian etch using the
deb packages xen 3.0.3 and kernel 2.6.18.
On the old server, all my hvm machines use vnc console and a password is set
into xend-config.sxp and it works nice.
On the new etch server, with the same hvms and configuration files,

Maintain VNC session across reboots?
Hello,
I have Ubuntu installed as a domU on the debian dom0, and connect via VNC
in dom0. This is great for doing installs, and seeing the console
output. However
the VNC session doesn''t seem to keep the active connection during a domU reboot.
Has anyone got this working?
If so, how?

bad mmio size, MMIO emulation failed, and other issues
I''ve been trying to pass through a GPU to a domU, so far with a lot of
trouble but finally a success. PCI passthrough works, I''ve had the usb
hubs work successfully. Today I tried to pass through my ATI card to
an ubuntu hvm domU with no gfx_passthru and got this:

Vista Ultimate 32-bit install - VNC woes
Hi,
I''m running Xen server based on OpenSuSE 11 (Xen version
3.2.1_16881_04-4.2). I have several Linux DomU''s that run perfect.
Now I need a temporary Vista install (for testing) so I used
''virt-manager'' to install Vista. I used LVM based setup, Vista got 4GB
of memory (at least temporary) and 2 CPU''s.
Initially things look good - I get the console

Is the VNC setting available for non-hvm DomU''s?
I have been scouring this list''s archives and have consumed any and all
how-to guides I could find but am still unsure. All discussion in this
list on this issue is around hvm/vti DomU''s. Has anyone been able to
attach a vnc client to a vanilla (non-hvm) DomU using the VNC console
setting?
On an FC5 (2.6.16-1.2080_FC5xen0) kernel deployed on vanilla (non-hvm)
hardware,

No more sessions available' / channels not closing issue
Hi all,
We've run into a curious issue.
We run CentOS 6.5 with openssh installed (OpenSSH_5.3p1, OpenSSL 1.0.1e-fips 11 Feb 2013 by default). We connect to this server through sftp (Subsystem sftp internal-sftp) using the java JSch library. When opening many sftp channels on a single ssh session OpenSsh does not seem to release the sftp channels closed from the client side when there are

Wine and Baldur's Gate
Well,
Now that I've made it through the actual install, I figured I'ld take
Baldur's Gate for a spin. The main screeen, where you select to play the
game, change the configuration, etc, comes up fine. There's a slight pause
after clicking 'Play' while BGMain.exe starts and X is set yo 640x480 (I'm
guessing this has something to do with DETACH_PROCESS?), but
