arp who-has packets not seen in Dom0 even by tcpdump
Hi all, I''m running Xen-3.2 and linux-image-2.6.18 as Dom0 kernel on a VT-x processor. The problem is that broadcast arp who-has packets are not seen in Dom0 kernel. I''ve tried both precompiled debian kernel and compiled latest one from sources as described at http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-01/msg00699.html There is no linux bridge invoked,

Debian & eth0 vs. peth0
It seems that with their specific Xen packages, Debian likes to go against the norm, and rather than calling the Xen bridging device something sensible like "xenbr0", they rename the main physical ethernet device "eth0" to "peth0" and create "eth0" as the Xen bridge (as far as I can tell, anyways). Anyone know where exactly they do this so I can reverse it?

Hi all, it''s happening a strange thing: After I boot the xen dom0 network is unavailable: I have to unload the network modules and load it again ( rmmod / modprobe) and execute a service network restart) This is strange, what do you suggest me to check? bridge + arp
Hi, this is propably bridge related and not really a xen problem, but it might help someone: Some of our domUs are not able to arp. Arp -n show (incomplete), and doing a tcpdump shows, that on the dom0''s eth0 the arp request goes out, the response comes in, but on the vifX.0 interface the arp response is gone. dom0# tcpdump -ni eth0 arp who-has 10.32.2.51 tell 10.32.7.70 arp reply

bridging and peth0
Hi, If one sets xend to use network-bridge and there are no bridges already present then it seems that xend will clone eth0 to peth0, create xenbr0 and add peth0 and vif0.0 as ports on that bridge. If on the other hand xenbr0 is created in /etc/network/interfaces then xend will not do any of that peth0 stuff, nor will it add vif0.0 to xenbr0, yet (barring some changes in iptables rules) things

Hey Jeremy, Please pull from devel/pat (based off your xen/dom0/core tree) which has one patch: Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk (1): xen/pat: make pte_flags(x) a pvops function. which is neccessary for the drivers/gpu/drm/radeon driver to work properly with AGP based cards (which look to be the only ones that try to set WC on pages). Also please pull from devel/kms.fixes-05 (based off your

about removing the peth0
hi, When I remove the ether card from the system and attach it back again, it does work any more. I read the documents in wiki, and I know the ip and mac address are copied to eth0. But I''m using dhcp, so the ip address will change. But the eth0 stays the same. What can I do to make it work again? Thx. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list
