Raid 1 OS Drives with XenEnterprise?
I''m trying to install XenEnterprise with raid 1 for its OS drives but
the installer doesn''t seem to have this ability. Is there some way to
install it in raid 1? The reason I need this is in case the OS drive
fails, the whole system doesn''t go down.

Xen Enterprise and templates
Hello,
I am trying to use Xen Enterprise (its free version). Until now I have
no problem, but now I want to create a new virtual machine based in
debian etch, not debian sarge (the debian version included in xen
templates). So I am looking for a way to create my own template, but I
haven''t found any documentation about that.
Looking the files, I have found that templates are stored in

disk performance about half in domU? + question about XenSource
Based on some tests we ran, it seems the biggest performance
hit you get from running within domU is from disk I/O. We
did some mysql read and write tests, and for both, our
performance is about half that compared to native. Has that
been others'' experience?
Is there any way to make this better? We are using physical
partitions. In contrast, cpu/memory tests appear to be near

AW: Xen Express 4.0 - Console
Not really. The DomU and Dom0 keyboard layout is correct.
But the problem is the XenCenter Console. It doesn''t allow the use of CTRL+ALT (or ALTGR). Every time you press these keys, the console-fullscreen mode is toggled.
But if you hold the CTRL+ALT Key and keep pressing the < key, the character appears in the console. But it sucks - you have always pay attention when you want to

MacBook Pro Yonah (Intel Core Duo)
Dear all;
Has anyone tried the new CPU (codename Yonah) produced by Apple? I heard
from the engineer of Apple that MacBook Pro is already reachable, although
it is not distributed to the public until February. If anyone has some
information, I would like to buy it to enlarge the frontier.
-- Does Yonah demand xen/i86 or xen/ppc? Or we need brand-new source code?
That is the problem. Is

A Performance Comparison of Hypervisors
Obviously not a very fair comparison [1]. I can''t see how this was done well
at all.
VMWare are a bit silly to release stuff like this, just lowers the whole
game.

Copy on write Disk Images
Hi all,
I am working on a project in which I would like to use copy-on-write VM
disk images in order to create "deltas" of a disk over a period of time.
For example, if I have a VM which uses /var/lib/xen/vm1/vm1.hda as its
disk image, can I attach a copy-on-write disk image which would record
changes in, /var/lib/xen/vm1/vm1-cow.hda rather than in the main disk
image file?

Which exactly Linux kernel version was used to build the Xen 3.1 binary?
Hi,
Which of the Mercurial repos contains Linux kernel sources that were
used to build the Xen 3.1 binary distribution?
I have this question because I am suspecting that the sata_via driver
included in the distribution is not supporting my SATA controller
VIA8237x (I get error messages when modprobe''ing it from an init
ramdisk).

Xen and Linux on Intel G33 needs kernel 2.6.19+
Dear,
I''m looking to get Xen running on a system that (afterwards) seems a bit
too new. The board has the Intel G33 chipset with the Intel ICH9
southbridge. This chipset is NOT supported by kernel 2.6.18 which ships
with Xen 3.1.2 (and Debian Etch).
So the question is:
* What version of Xen to install to get going? Should I choose unstable?
* What distribution will be the easiest to get

Grant Tables between dom0 and domU?
Hi All,
The interface manual says - grant tables provide a generic mechanism sharing
between domains.
Subsequent lines suggest mechanism sharing between only unpriviliged
domains.
Can grant tables be used for this capability based shared memory
communication between dom0 and domUs?
Thanks

Equivalent of XenBus for fully-virtualized Xen
Hello,
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenBusDriver?highlight=%28xenbus%29
says that "XenBus provides a bus abstraction for paravirtualized drivers
to communicate between domains. In practice, the bus is used for
configuration negotiation, leaving most data transfer to be done via
page flipping."
What is the equivalent mechanism for fully-virtualized drivers in Xen
