fixed trimmed mean for j-group
Hello...i want to find the empirical rate for type 1 error using fixed
trimmed mean. To make it easy, i'm referring to journal given by this

I already run the programme and there is no error in it but i got zero for
the empirical rate of type 1 error. The empirical rate for the type 1 error

fixed trimmed mean for group
Hello,
I haven't found errors in your code. I implemented the test in the paper
(the first, fixed symetric mean) and it also gives me zero Type I
errors, when alpha = 0.05. Try to see the value of min(pv) or to plot
the histogram of 'pv', hist(pv) and you'll see that there are no
significant p-values, at that level.
Anyway I'll continue to look at it, but my first

tcl tk: set the position button
Dear Rodrigo,
Try tkwm.geometry(win1, "-0+0"), which should position win1 at the top
right.
I hope this helps,
John

WIndows 2008, Quard Core Opteron, xen
Hello
I have trouble with Quard Core Opteron and windows 2008(x86).
By the way Windows device manager show 4 processors, BUT task manager
show only one core.
I found that my problem is not new. But solutions, provided by those
people did not helped me.
By the way, my windows is enterprise version, and as far as I know, it
allows up to 8 processor sockets, so the trouble is not, that windows

LVM & volume groups
Can anybody tell me if it makes a difference if domU''s have separate LVM
volume groups?
For instance, the Xen User Manual
( http://tx.downloads.xensource.com/downloads/docs/user/#SECTION03330000000000000000) says, when setting up a domU''s disks with LVM, to do a

Should each domU have it''s own volume group, or can all the domU''s share

/proc/mounts always shows "nobarrier" option for xfs, even when mounted with "barrier"
Ran into a confusing situation today. When I mount an xfs filesystem on
a server running centos 5.4 x86_64 with kernel 2.6.18-164.9.1.el5, the
barrier/nobarrier mount option as displayed in /proc/mounts is always
set to "nobarrier"
Here's an example:
[root at host ~]# mount -o nobarrier /dev/vg1/homexfs /mnt
[root at host ~]# grep xfs /proc/mounts
/dev/vg1/homexfs /mnt xfs

calling an editor on MAC and Linux
I have written an R function that writes output to an external file using
the sink function. I assume that `sink' is not operating system dependent.
At the end of the function I have additional code that opens the newly
created file using notepad on a Windows system. Obviously, this part of the
code will not work on a Mac or Linux box. Since I do not have a machine
with Linux or the Mac OS

Windows 2008 SBS suddenly disappearing on Xen 4.0.0
Hi all,
when running Windows 2008 SBS on Xen 4.0.0, it disappears after some time (longest time I had it running was 20 minutes). In /var/log/xen/qemu-dm-win1.log I find:
xc_map_foreign_batch: mmap failed: Cannot allocate memory
xc_map_foreign_bulk error 12
Anyone any idea how to troubleshoot this? The Hypervisor has 16 GB of RAM, currently 2 GB are allocated to Dom0. This specific DomU has 8

Oggz use
Hi there,
First of all, sorry for my English I'm not a native english speaker.
I need to develop and application witch does 3 tasks with oggs files :
1/ chain 2 ogg files
2/ extract a part from an ogg file
3/ add silence between two chained oggs files.
Basically,
- For the 1st task, I think that the best way to chain ogg files is to
use the "cat" (on linux) or "copy

dm-multipath use
Are folks in the Centos community succesfully using device-mapper-multipath?
I am looking to deploy it for error handling on our iSCSI setup but there
seems to be little traffic about this package on the Centos forums, as far
as I can tell, and there seems to be a number of small issues based on my
reading the dm-multipath developer lists and related resources.

I am accessing the server console using the iDRAC KVM feature of the dell

Does anyone know how to configure the console option in the grub menu so
that all the boot messages can be seen on the
mgmt console?
Currently I can view only the Xen bootup messages if I dont specify
