cbq dosen''t shape on MARK for one host.. strange!
Hello all, this is my first post here. Sorry for my english. Gentoo LAN router, 2.4.26-hardened-r2 There are 2 WAN links, one LAN link. I am doing some iptables/routing/tc magic in my scripts. What''s interesting is marking packets traveling from all IP''s in LAN. Interesting commands are: ------------- for ip in `seq 50`; do $IPTABLES -t mangle -A FORWARD -o eth2 -d

Inconsistent results while attempting to preset a computer with a one-time-password
Hello all, I'm kind of pulling my hair out over here. I'll preface this by saying that I'm using the latest version of Samba packaged in Debian Stretch as my domain controller. Currently, I'm trying to build an infrastructure where I can deploy a new virtual machine, then have it automatically join the domain so that users can log in to it without very much (if any)

Windind (Samba 4.2.*, 4.5.2) recurring resolving failure for some specific users
Hello. I'm facing an seemingly unsolvable problem on the Samba servers I administer (on Debian stable). Those servers are registered on a AD domain. They only serve files and are not registered as domain controllers. For some idendified users (always the same), Winbind periodically (but unpredicably) becomes unable to resolve their names, making their shares unavailable. A "net cache

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and s yslinux 2.04
This sounds kind of like what happened with me for earlier attempts at using syslinux. Skip using HPA's tools entirely and dd if=vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k count=1 and make sure that the kernel runs from a floppy disk. There'll be no file system or anything, but you'll make sure that your kernel isn't faulty. If it doesn't execute, then you can avoid the syslinux/pxelinux

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all. We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box. The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from Broadcom (NetXtreme II). My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is pretty new to me but I have gotten a good hold on it tho. I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all! We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all our systems. But we discovered some Problems: - With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem, but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses - With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2 bridging problem
Hi, I''ve run into the same issue as: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-07/msg00599.html In that, running the network bridge script kills networking completely, trying to ping the gateway gives me destination host unreachable. The card is: 09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 11) Using the bnx2 module:

Problem with Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2
Hi, I have a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with two NICs Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708 1000Base-T. I installed CentOS 5.1 and Xen 3.0.3 (RPM). One of my virtual machines has Windows 2003 Server. In this virtual machine my NICs appears like "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC". The problem is that when I ping to other machines sometimes the reply time value is very high: C:>

Suddenly a problem with outgoing calls made from Cisco phones...
Hi all! Quite a mystery. The following happened when I was on holiday, and no one else has changed any configs of either Asterisk or the Cisco's in the building... The situation: Incoming works fine on all phones. Outgoing only works from non-Cisco phones. When calling from a Cisco phone to an external phone, all the Cisco-user hears is a ticking crackle and after about a minute the phone

RESOLVED: Debian Xen + Broadcom NetXtreme II (IBM x3655 7985-AC1)
I have a new x3655 IBM and whenever the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge script starts, the ethernet would no longer work. This post isn''t about the cause, but the fix. I did a lot of tcpdumps and Googling, but I''ll spare you that. All they do is prove that yes, there is an issue. :) I tried Debian 4.0 i386/amd64 and Ubuntu 7.04 Server i386/amd64 and they all exhibit the

Strange reboot since 9.1
Hello, Since FreeBSD 9.1 I have strange problems with the distribution. Some servers are rebooting without any kernel panic, instanly. First i thought it's a problem with my KVM system, but one of my FreeBSD under a Dell R210 have the same problem. The servers concerned are now: - Monitoring server - LDAP test server - Some other servers, randomly (not in production). First i thought it's

Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720 in the 9.1 beta
Team I have a Dell PowerEdge R720xd, with the Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720. I found the following thread: http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=31769 I find I am unable to use the NIC's (there are 4 on the server). When we put a cable into it we get a "watchdog timeout -- resetting" error, and the machine will pause for 5 or so seconds. IP may or may not come up randomly.
