Bug#387361: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64: Xen3 keeps rebooting on AMD64X2
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64 Version: 3.0.2+hg9697-2 Severity: normal Hi DDs, I tried to install the binaries for Xen3, AMD64 flavour on Etch. Everything seemed ok - even the menu.lst got updated nicely and autmagically. Still, after a reboot into the Xen Dom0, the machine just reboots again and again. I added 'noreboot' and made a screenshot named 'xenboot.jpg', which

AMD SVN and Xen3
So, as promised, here an first summary. Hardware: AMD Athlon64 X2-4600+ with Asus M2N-Mainboard. Just a short hint: By far not all memory modules work with the Asus boards! Make sure to have compatible ones... After 2 days of trial and error I got the following results: Debian "Sarge" x64: Doesn''t like the new nVidia SATA-Controller (will check today with PATA-interface)

xen3 domU on xen4 dom0
Greetings! Trying to to run a xen3 domU on a xen4 dem0 I run into problems. The xen server ''XEN1''(dom0) is openSUSE-11.3 (kernel 2.6.34) and xen-4.0.1. With qemu I created an image ''M08.raw'' from the SUSE-9.3 (kernel 2.6.11) and XEN-3.0 installation CD''s. The XEN modules were included in the installation. In M08.raw/boot I configured grub/menu.lst:

Xen Enterprise on Debian Etch
Hi all. Sorry for posting this to the devel list but the website is unclear on this issue. We''re about to purchase Xen Enterprise and would like to run it on Debian Etch (i.e. Debian Etch for the dom0 as well as the domUs). It looks like the deliverable when Xen Enterprise is purchased is a CD image containing a Red Hat installation. Can anyone point us at a supported method of

xen3 on file backed partitions
Hi list, I''m running xen3 on verious systems and are very happy with the way it works. My set up is based on files as partitions but I have encountered a problem I can only create 4 partitions this way since all are primary partitions. Are there any solution to this problem other than move the domU''s to real partitions ? Thanks in advance Karsten

Debian asterisk-bristuff
I apologise now if I have managed to completely misunderstand this whole subject! I've built a small PC and loaded Etch 4.0 from the netinst cd. I did 'apt-get install asterisk-bristuff' which seemed to work but, it doesn't seem to have installed any files/modules for zaptel? ztcfg zaptel zaphfc I am using a billion hfc card Any pointers? -- Simon Faulkner 01538 303 900

GRUB boot parameters: dom0_mem
I''ve installed Xen Hypervisor 3.0.3 (CentOS 5.7, i386) inside Virtualbox 4.1.16 (Mageia 1, i686) and have noticed that Dom0 is consuming 85% of the memory allocated to the VM (1GB) so I''d like to reduce this as much as possible in order to make more room for one or two VM''s. Is there a minimum amount of vRAM that can/should be allocated to Dom0 (using the dom0_mem boot

problem installing xen kernel on Debian etch
I am currently running kernel 2.6.18-6-686 on Debian Etch 40r3. I am trying to install xen on it. I tried installing linux-image-2.6.18-6- xen-686, but when I restarted, it doesn''t boot instead shows a kernel panic. I ran #apt-get install linux-image-2.6.18-6-xen-686 and changed /boot/grub/menu.lst file to point to current xen kernel. While rebooting it showed kernel panic and

R slower after etch->lenny upgrade
Hi. Last week I updated from 32 bit etch to 32 bit lenny on an AMD SMP machine. I first cloned the system disk to an identical drive, and updated the cloned drive. I still have the etch install untouched on the previous drive, which has allowed me to do some testing. After the update R has slowed down significantly. A user brought this to my attention, and at this point we have only

linux-image-2.6.18-3-xen-686 on Etch with custom config?
Hi, I'd like to build a version of linux-image-2.6.18-3-xen-686 on Etch with a custom config. To do similar in the past I've used the linux-source-* packages but I don't see any for Xen. Is there a guide or other docs as to how this should be done with the -xen kernels? Alternatively, is there a patch anywhere against linux-source-2.6.18? Cheers, Andy -------------- next part

Migrate to Debian Etch - nogo
Hi Everyone, I have a small project going on. I'm about to migrate Redhat 7.3 to Debian Etch (smbd version 3.0.23d-2+b1). I've already managed to migrate Redhat 7.3 to Debian Sarge (smbd version 3.0.14a-) without any bigger problems. However, when I migrate to Etch I face a small problem. The last thing I want to do before I start samba is to grant my linux/samba admin, NT 'Domain
