TX/RX ring buffer allocation (xen-unstable)
Hi, I did not find any hints in the web where to configure/setup/manipulate the rx/tx ring buffer allocation within dom0 for xen-unstable, maybe someone here can nudge me towards the right knob. The problem: when booting a handful of domUs and connecting them (comprising a small experimental IP network with links and nodes etc.), some interfaces that have been given by the configuration files

Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello, I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW 521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI controllers, it hangs in a loop aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen) kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi controller. Had anyone had the same

HVM WinXP dom crash
Hi Trying to get WinXP HVM to install as domU on AMD. Got latest Xen Kernel and Xen package (NOT unstable or debug). When start, a window pops up for few seconds.. then it dies and another one comes up... and it disappears too. (Xen is trying to restart and giving up because the restart happens in 2 seconds..) It seems DomU is not able to read/understand something from Cirrus VGABIOS.

Has Many :through associations
Greetings again: I''m simplifying the case I presented earlier regarding the use of has_many :through. I''m using DHH''s example from "Persuing Beauty with Ruby On Rails". Here are his models: class Author < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :authorships has_many :books, :through => :authorships end class Book < ActiveRecord::Base has_many

Domain Crash and Xend can''t restart
I have a single VM (of 11) that has a recurring problem. This image has moved from machine to machine, with the problem following it. This image has been rebuilt from scratch, and the problem recurred. It would appear that there is something in the behaviour of this VM which causes it to crash and causes Xend to become unhappy. The problem presents as: Domain crashes, becomes zombie. xm

Error: (12, ''Cannot allocate memory'')
Not sure if this is a Fedora Core 6 issue. I already post a message on their list but didn''t get an answer. So I am going to try here.. Does anyone has Windows Guest OS running successfully with the Dom0 has all the physical memory allocated? If I don''t lower the memory assign to Dom0 through grub, I will not be able to run a Windows Guest OS. This what I got Using

PXE boot into rescue mode
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I followed the instructions here: http://nixcraft.com/file-servers/14803-how-centos-5-pxe-linux-installation-server.html, along with a few other sources that were less successful, and I finally got a pxe boot going. I'm using CentOS 5.3 x86_64 media as the source. The server boots, but keeps hanging. Here is my boot line:

MMCFG Problem
Hi Allen, Hi All, I''m looking into SR-IOV on Xen and in particular getting the VFs of the Intel 82756 initialised in dom0. One problem that I am coming up against is that the SRIOV extended PCIe capability does not show up for the PF (physical PCI function). Actually, the extended PCIe capability space doesn''t show up at all for any device. This seems to be related to a

cannot boot any domU - case #2
Hi, I noticed the earlier thread on this started by Scott Koranda (sorry - was reading off gmane so I can''t reply to thread) I have exactly the same symptoms: machine hangs as soon as I attempt to start a single domU, just after emitting "using config file..." At that point the machine appears completely wedged. The sequence of 3 ^A on the console no longer does

Core 2 Duo
Am considering a new laptop, and I wonder if anyone here can share their Xen experiences with the newest Core 2 Duo CPUs, ref http://www.intel.com/products/processor/core2duo/specifications.htm The list at http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/HVM_Compatible_Processors doesn''t include any Core 2 Duos. Does that mean that people have had problems, or is the wiki just not up to date? I gather

Sweave choking on \\ in filename
Dear all, Sweave chokes when using "\\" in the path to the Rnw file. Using "/" works fine. The problem is that Eclipse+StatET uses "\\" in the filename. And example of the error, traceback and sessionInfo are given below. Best regards, Thierry > Sweave("Q:\\BMK\\cursussen\\interne_opleiding\\deelnemerslijst.Rnw", syntax="SweaveSyntaxNoweb")

3.0.4 ACPI support and Opteron 2210 ?
Hello, I originally posted this to xen-users, but someone suggested I post it here. I am having ACPI problems on a PenguinComputing Altus1600 system. It has 2x dual core Opteron 2210 processors. The system boots with a standard Debian or Ubuntu SMP kernel, with ACPI enabled. However the xen live cd, binary xen install, as well as my own custom compile of xen 3.0.4 from source will not boot.
