No adsl in dom0 - Fedora 7
Hi,
I am having problems establishing an adsl connection in dom0 (but ONLY
in dom0, without xen everything is ok). Following is my setup/situation:
1. Installed clean Fedora 7 (with virtualization option selected)
2. Booted with the non-xen kernel & setup adsl. Adsl connection works
without any problems.
3. Rebooted with xen kernel into dom0.
4. adsl connection can no longer be activated

Is RAMDISK required for domU boot?
Hi,
I found one weird thing: I heard RAMDISK is not required for domU, but it
seems I have to add RAMDISK to my domU config file, otherwiese the domU
will hang up when it is booting. Please see the message below, the domU
booting hangs up after "Continuing..."
Does anyone have any clue for this issue? BTW, xen-friendly glibc is already
installed.
Thanks,
Liang

are Xen 3.1.0 kernels CVE-2007-4573 vulnerable
Does anyone know if the Xen 3.1.0 kernels as distributed in
the "open source" tarballs (x86_64 version) are vulnerable to the
recently-announced vulnerability CVE-2007-4573?
IF so, is there any plan to release patched tarballs anytime soon?
Thanks

no PROMISC mode in ip link show
Hi
When I start arpwatch or tcpdump the Ethernet card eth0 goes into
promiscuous mode but I cannot see it with ifconfig eth0 or ip link show.
The only way I can see it is when I looked at dmesg.
Ifconfig uses the old style IOFLAG way to determine this but looking
into ip code this is supposed to work even with newer kernels (I''m on
2.6.17 now with the latest iproute package)
I found

no PROMISC mode ..
Hi,
I''m not convinced I''m facing a bug, I was reading some code and
also reading some threads and finally reached this conclusion, please
let me know if it''s not clear enough and also if you don''t agree :
- The case it shows the flag with iproute is
because it''s using a single flag set.
That was working on kernels linux <2.1.x. (2.0 etc.)

newer iproute2: no support for "ip link set dev $DEV promisc on"
Greetings all,
I have tried to find a discussion of the removal of support for the
PROMISC interface flag with the iproute2 tools.
- it used to work (iproute2-2.2.4-$ANCIENT)
- there''s a comment about it in the iproute docs [0]
- (un-)setting the flag with ifconfig still works
Can anybody point me to the discussion (linux-net, maybe?) where support
for setting the PROMISC flag

Any Xen kernel based on something newer than 2.6.18 ?
Hello all,
I''m trying to get my servers to work with Xen, but as I use sata2, it
looks like only a recent kernel will do the job. But unferotunately, ony
and official 2.6.8 is provided, which doesn''t boot at all on those machines.
I''ve tried ubuntu''s 2.6.22-xen, but ti looks very buggy. Where could we
find patches for 2.6.22/23 to add Xen?
How could I gete a

why vlan tag is retained in promisc mode
In current Crossbow''s implementation, vlan tag seems to be
unconditionally retained for promisc mode listener even when
MAC_OPEN_FLAGS_TAG_DISABLE is not specified.
I saw comments in mac_rx_deliver() saying that this is deliberately
designed like this.
I''m wondering why we design it like this (choose not to respect
MAC_OPEN_FLAGS_TAG_DISABLE flag for promisc mode listener)?

[PATCH 00/37] [RFC] revamped modeset locking
Hi all,
First thing first: It works, I now no longer have a few dropped frames every 10s
on my testbox here with the pageflip i-g-t tests.
Random notes:
- New design has per-crtc locks to protect the crtc input-side (pageflip,
cursor) for r/w and the output state of the crtc (mode, dpms) as read-only. It
also required completely revamped fb lifecycle management, those are now
refcounted

PRI dropping #2
Hey,
I wrote yesterday about PRI dropping, which turned out to just be a
regular reset of unused B-channels. This time there's a real issue. As
noted earlier I have an ISDN-30 connection, a Digium TE-121 with
VPMADT032 echo cancellation. These are my configurations files:
== /etc/zaptel.conf
loadzone=dk
defaultzone=dk
span=1,1,0,css,hdb3,crc4

dchan=16
