reset par() within plot layout
Dear list,
I would like to produce a matrix of plots, where par() is reset after
each plot (see below [simplified] example). When I use layout() to do
so, I seem to also reset the layout. I have not been able to figure out
how to prevent this from happening.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Virtual bridge in Xen
Hi Keir,
I find that you are the author of the netback driver of
linux-2.6.18-xen Dom0 and I hope I can get some help from you. I want to
quickly have a knowledge about how a data packet is transferred between two
VMs on the same Xen hypervisor if the TCP/IP protocol is used. I am not
sure whether a data packet from DomU1 to DomU2 is transferred like this:

Creating network bridge without IP address
Hi everyone!
I have the following setup:
domain0
|-domU1
|-domU2
|-domU3
I am running this with libvirt on a XEN server. Right now the server is connected to our office network, but later it will be in a hosted environment. I need domU1 and domU3 to have a public IP, and all of the domUs and the dom0 should have an internal IP address to communicate with each other. So this is what I would like

evaluation of discriminant functions+multivariate homoscedasticity
Hello,
I am switching from SPSS-Windows to R-Linux. My university is very
SPSS-oriented so maybe that's the cause of my problems. I am a beginner
in R and my assignments are SPSS-oriented, so I hope I don't annoy
anyone with my questions...
Right now I've got 2 problems:
-I have to evaluate discriminant functions I have calculated with

Xen disk device detach fails as non-root [libvirt-0.8.7 and older versions]
Hi All,
I find that I am able to attach a disk device do a Xen domain, using
virDomainAttachDevice(), running as a non-root user, but I am unable
to use virDomainDetachDevice() - it results in an "unknown failure".
Using "virsh [attach|detach]-device" exhibits this behviour.
$ virsh attach-device domu1 attach.xml
Device attached successfully
$ virsh detach-device domu1

Network issue in dom0
Hello,
I have a network issue in dom0; I''m not sure if it''s a configuration
problem or a design problem in my setup.
My setup:
The server (dom0) runs Ubuntu 7.10, Xen was installed using apt-get
(means version: Xen 3.10, Kernel 2.6.22-14). This server has 4 NICs. I
use bridged networking with my own script which creates 4 bridges

Porting R example datasets to GNU Octave
Hi, R Developers,
I'm interested in porting the R example datasets package to GNU Octave
and Matlab. Would you have objections to my doing so?
This would involve transforming the example data and metadata into a
format that Octave understands, and porting all of the datasets' Example
code pieces to Octave M-code. (This would require no work on your part;
it'd be my project.)
I think
