can''t get network access from windows hvm
Hello everyone,
I have been able to get windows xp to run under a virtual machine, but i
cannot get any network access.
My desktop is connected to a university network, and we are only given 1
ip address. so i understand i have to use routing instead of bridging,
right?
i have commented the two lines for bridge and enabled routing in
/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
next i inserted a line:

Automatically close Windows program on crash?
I have a program that, under certain circumstances, will crash out
with the "Serious Error" popup. In order to better probe the crash
with an automated test harness, I'd like to be able to skip that popup
and just have the process terminate. Is there a way to do that? Tell
Wine "hey, if this program segfaults, just close it without asking
me"?
Hoping this is something

Issue with Wx::Image class, especially set_data
Hello
Hopefully some developer will see this too.
I''ve problems using set_data method for example with wxruby 1.9.7/ruby
1.8.6 on mswin32.
It always crashes:
..../classes/bitmap.rb:17: [BUG] segmentation fault
On my Linux it works fine (thats no suprise of course).
Probably somebody has a clue - I exported this raw data also with
get_data, I guess this should be platform independent

Intel VT-d and Asus Desktop/Workstation mainboards, eg. Asus P9X79 WS
Good day to you
Im a casual Xen user and am also using I/O Virtualization.
I had always trouble getting DMAR tables (and IOMMU) recognized with
Asus Mainboards, despite the fact that I always used this boards a lot.
Since the Nehalem Intel architecture, I looked into Intel Mainboards
due the fact that this seems to work out with Xen, Linux and VT-d.
My request is, that someone who tried Asus

Noisy sound quality with Blackfin in WB-mode
Hello all,
I'm testing the Speex codec for my diploma thesis on a BF-533 Blackfin under
uCLinux (2005R3 RC3 release). I successfully compiled the Speex (1.1.11-svn)
and I can encode/decode wav-files on my STAMP-board using the speexenc/speexdec
sample apps. But I encountered that the decoded file sounds strange/noisy, when
compiling with "--enable-blackfin-asm" +

Adding a VLAN tag to a libvirt SR-IOV VF network using the "virsh net-update" command
Hi all,
How do you add a VLAN tag to a libvirt SR-IOV VF network usingthe "virsh net-update" command? I couldn't find the section to passto the "virsh net-update" command to add the VLAN tag.
I have the following libvirt network defined for a SR-IOV VF:
<network> <name>GE0-0-SRIOV-1</name> <uuid>7bc67166-c78e-4bcf-89ee-377dd9086631</uuid>

Dial your phone and contact phone from within outlook?
I am wondering what the best solution is for initiating a call from Outlook Contacts. I imagine something that would start the call from the outlook card (or similar) and then dial the user's extension and the contact's phone number and place them in a bridge.
Anyone use something like this?

Joystick axis mapping issue (wine/linux)
Good day to you wine users
I've following problem, I've a cheap joystick which is recognized
as DragonRise Inc. - however many of them are I guess.
It's some china stuff which is each time labeled different but almost
always the same device (or so I've heard).
Everything works great except the joystick is recognized as being 7 axis
one - I really dont know why it does this.

time sorting it out. i am glad google does not charge. have spent
two hours on this one alone; and undoubtedly it is my st00pidity. so
excuse my desperate posting to lazynet.

[LLVMdev] Intended semantics for ``fence seq_cst``
Hi,
TL;DR: should we add a new memory ordering to fences?
``fence seq_cst`` is currently use to represent two things:
- GCC-style builtin ``__sync_synchronize()`` [0][1].
- C11/C++11's sequentially-consistent thread fence
``std::atomic_thread_fence(std::memory_order_seq_cst)`` [2].
As far as I understand:
- The former orders all memory and emits an actual fence instruction.
- The

Asterisk 13.5 and higher (asterisk 13.7.2) quitting
I start asterisk 13.7.2 and it dies before I can rasterisk into it. I've tried getting a coredump, but it doesn't coredump. I know there are a lot of errors in the log below, but most of those just say it'll not load a module, and no big deal.
When launching from commandline (not service script) here is what happens.

Checking validity of NHS numbers
Hello
I need to check that the NHS numbers in my database are valid. I''m
storing them as ten-digit strings: the first nine are the identifier and
the tenth is a check digit.
There are four steps to calculating the check digit (from
http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/systemsandservices/nsts/docs/tech_nn_check_digit.pdf):
1. multiply each of the first nine digits by a weighting factor

dovecot memory consumption beta vs. old "stable" series
Hi!
I just wanted to know if anyone can give a definitive answer if dovecot
beta's memory requirements are much better than in the old pre-alpha
"stable" series?
I'm using a rather old stable.20050712 release on an also rather old
Debian Sarge box to manage my personal mails. I'm pretty satisfied with
this dovecot release but it's memory consumption when deleting

Named Overlow Concern
I am running Linux 2.0.30 (Redhat 4.2) and have recently been hacked.
I have tightened up security but still feel vulnerable.
In running the program mscan which was kindly left on my system I get this.
bullnet.co.uk: VULN: linux box vulnerable to named overflow.
194.242.135.145: VULN: redhat linux box running imapd.
This is after upgrading to the versions as below.
