Centos 6.5 Xen Stock cannot run dom-u PCI: Fatal: - ipmi_si
I had a supermicro server SuperServer 1027R-WRF4+ and a old Dell PowerEdge 2950.
In both machines I setup centos 6.5, which is running
3.10.34-11.el6.centos.alt.x86_64.
I follow Xen4Cen wiki to setup Xen, I had other servers running Centos
5.x without issues.
Now, once I build my vm's dom-u centos 6.5/centos 5.9 both x64, I

CentOS 4.4 Xen VM/VPS install on CentOS 5 (xen kernel) issues
Ok So I''ve been able to successfully create a CentOS5 virt-install on
xen using LVM created partitions. But have many problems trying to
install 4.4 (It does not work with virt-install hence you have to try
another method). I Created a name, name-tmp, name-swap, name-root
paritions.
I did mke2fs and mkswap no problem everything is good. I went on further

Dom0 lvm/software raid rhel4.1 booting issues.
Basically the issue comes down to my Volume Groups not being found by
this initrd, causing good ole kernel panic.

Problem getting x86_64 dom0 to boot on a FC4 machine
I''m struggling to get Xen to boot on a FC4 Opteron box. I''ve included the

DomU boot hangs after cron; XENBUS errors
I am having an issue getting a DomU to boot properly. There is never any
indication of a stop error or kernel panic, it simply hangs after "Starting
crond [ OK ]" and never continues. I''ve included my mkinitrd and output
from xm create... please help!

Xen 3.0.3 troubles with a plain old ide disk.
Hi folks,
After using 3.0.3 at work for awhile I decided to upgrade my 3.0.2
install at home to 3.0.3; however, I ran into issues with my IDE disk
not being discovered.

domU corrupt after server crash, help needed trying to recover domU LVM
Hi all,
One of our Dell servers has failed badly, and one of the domU's has been
corrupted in the process. It boots up to a point and then gives me a kernel
panic:

No login prompt for DomainU with Xen 3.1 on CentOS 5.3

I just installed CentOS 5.3 and try the built-in Xen 3.1 with it. But even the
typical ttyLinux doesn''t work when the domain is created.-- it just doesn''t give
me the login prompt while the domain ttylinux is booted.

FC5 and Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

I have recently installed FC5 along with xen via yum. I''ve successfully rebooted using the dom0 (2.6.16-1.2133_FC5) kernel, started xend, and trying to start my first domU after following the instructions in the user guide. However, I keep receiving a kernel panic and an error about XENBUS timeout. Any help greatly appreciated as I am stumped. Should I be using the provided

Hello, i will describe my approach
1) I have downloaded Centos5-64bit xen image from jailtime.org
2) I have created own swap image with 512MB file size
3) I have used same as dom0 kernel 2.6.18-53.1.19.el5xen
4) I have mounted my image file and copied
/lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.19.el5xen
5) I have created custom ramdisk for domU with mkinitrd --with=xennet
--preload=xenblk

converting full to para
virt-p2v was able to convert my centOS 5.2 physical machine to xen virtual
machine and it runs great. Now, I am working on to convert this full virt
machine to para virt .
Under my domU i have installed kernel-xen (since it is needed ) , and edited
my grub menu to use the installed kernel.
My grub menu file in domU looks like:

Problem getting lvm to work
Hi,
I have problems getting lvm to work on my domU. The dom0 is a CentOS 5
installed on lvm. I''ve added two extra lv, one for root and one for
swap.
