Dom0 problems on Slackware 10.2
I''m running Xen 3.0.2 on a system that''s based on Slackware 10.2 as Dom0. DomU is also slackware 10.2. Am using the kernel that came with 3.0.2 - no custom config, just a "make world", etc.. Did have to add grub of course. When I start up xend, I get the following on /var/adm/messages: Apr 23 21:04:11 rc25 kernel: Bridge firewalling registered Apr 23 21:04:11 rc25

dom0 network interface intermittent
I have a server with dual etherports, eth0 and eth1. Before starting xend, I can connect to the server (dom0) on both IP''s. I have Xen configured so that it sets up the network-bridge on eth1; ie, in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp: (network-script ''network-bridge netdev=eth1'') When I start xend, the bridge starts up on eth1, and then I can''t connect to that

Re: Programatically checking if we''re in a domU or dom0
Thanks for your answers... But IMHO it''s hacky and error-prone to rely on the name of the host to determine if it''s a domU or a dom0 (or an unmodified kernel) :( I don''t like that much neither changing the name of the kernel :-/ I need to be able to determine, as a normal user (that is: non-root), if I''m running in a domU or not (I can already tell if

Network problem: packets are lost in domU
Hello, I am having big problems with Xen virtual network interfaces. First I tried typical bridge support, no luck. The packets sent from dom0 to domU seemed to disappear somewhere. Then, to debug the problem I have set up a simple point-to-point link and still have the same problem. I am using Xen 3.0.4-1 and Linux 2.6.16.x in both dom0 and domU. I have tried kernel 2.6.16.35 and 2.6.16.41. I

Bug#517863: Make logging of guest console output in dom0 via xenconsoled configurable
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1 Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: wishlist Hi, this morning I spend some time to find out how to log console output of Xen guest domains into a file in dom0. VNC console only shows black screen on HVM guest running on Xen 4.1 with Ubuntu 12.04 as Dom0
Hello all, I have a problem getting a working VNC console for HVM guests on Xen 4.1. When I start the DomU with xm create everything is fine the DomU runs and in xm list it has the running state but when I try to connect to the VNC console to install an operating system (Ubuntu and Debian I have tested) the VNC viewer only shows a black screen. So I searched in the logs and found a log entry

Virtual network interfaces not being created?
Hi there! I''m having some trouble getting networking going with Xen. When I first boot into the Xen kernel, I have two network interfaces (lo and eth0), both of which are configured correctly. When I start xend, peth0, vif0.0, and xenbr0 are added to the list. So far so good. When I actually instantiate a domain, no new vif entries are added to the list. If I try to bring up the

I try to bring up xend but get this error in the xend-debug.log /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge: line 62: ip: command not found Link veth0 is missing. This may be because you have reached the limit of the number of interfaces that the loopback driver supports. If the loopback driver is a module, you may raise this limit by passing it as a parameter (nloopbacks=<N>); if the driver is
