Problem with serial output
Hello,
I''ve got a problem to get a serial output on grub, xen, linux-xen0 and
getty. The serial works fine with grub, xen and linux-xen0, but I''m
unable to start a console, where I''m able to login. I dont''t get any
output. If I change only the getty from ttyS0 to ttyS1 than I''m able to
login..
At the attachment you can see what I see through a serial,

kernel-image naming with Xen
Hey there,
Earlier today I went to rebuild a Xen0 kernel and my modules_image
failed with an error based on the fact that my Xen0 image did not have
the standard kernel-image-XXX/linux-image-XXX name format. The error
output is at the bottom of this email. Previously it had worked fine,
only recently the maintainer (Kel) of the module source added some
restrictions to modules.control.in to look

xen 3.0.2 only one kernel?
i just ran install.sh from the xen 3.0.2 pre-built distribution.
in /boot it put
vmlinuz-2.6.16-xen
vmlinuz-2.6-xen -> vmlinuz-2.6.16-xen
what happened to the xen0 and xenU kernels?
also in /boot from xen 3.0.1 is
vmlinuz-2.6-xen0 -> vmlinuz-2.6.12.6-xen0
vmlinuz-2.6-xenU -> vmlinuz-2.6.12.6-xenU
which is what i expected from xen 3.0.2.

ServeRAID 4Lx - Plain 2.6.12.6 works - Xen not
Hi *,
I try to install Xen 3.0.0 on a IBM x342 with a ServeRAID 4Lx controller.
The box boots with "plain" 2.6.12.6 (aic7xx- and serveraid-support
included). It does not with a similar configuration of 2.6.12.6-xen0.
Any hints, boot options?

Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
Hi there.
I have installed Xen successfully on Debian on i386 machines but I am
having problems with an amd64 Opteron on a Sun X2100.
Upon attempting to boot into dom0 I get the following:
Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
VFS: Unable to mount root fs via NFS, trying floppy.
VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER
Not having a floppy I press enter and it reboots.
I have checked

3ware 9550SX - Xen-3.0.0
Guys,
I''m about to set up Xen on a dual Opteron server backed with SATA
storage which is driven by a 3ware 9550SX controller.
The problem is that as linux-2.6.12.6 has no support for this type of
card by default, so I need to download & compile the driver the vendor
provides. I did so (for the kernel 2.6.12.6-xen0) and generated an
initrd image which gets loaded properly at bootime,

multiple nics in a xenU
Hi xen users,
I''d like xen0 to be the controller and xenU(1) to be a firewall/router
with 4 subnets (WAN, LAN, DMZ, TEAM) each with 1 of 4 physical nics
attached to it.
Using FC4 with xen-3.0.0-7 with linux kernel 2.6.12.6, default make
world configurations, box is athlon cpu, 512M, 4 nics. On boot all nics
are recognized, lspci shows them to be present.
In xenU there are four ifcfg

Xend crashes repeatedly starting DomU - please help...
Hi, this is a repost of a previous question - since then I have tried
rebuilding my Xen0 kernel numerous times and trying different
configurations, but I haven''t yet ever got a single DomU to boot so I
really don''t even know what is supposed to happen, let alone how to
start debugging it...
Can someone please speculate on how to debug this further? It''s a

Xen 3.0.1 on Debian sarge kernel crash on Dual XEON Machine
Hello !
I''m using the latest xen packages from

warnings when installing modules with latest from -unstable
I just cloned a xeno-unstable.bk tree ( < 30 minutes ago).
autofs.ko didn''t get generated for some reason, so I did a separate
make modules pass. Then I did a make modules_install from which I got
a heap of unknown symbols warnings. I thought this might be fallout
from the switch to 2.6.11.
