exact Core 2 Duo setup supporting Intel-VT
Hi all, I checked the following page but it is not exhaustive: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/IntelVT (it actually doesn''t even lists Core 2 Duo as supporting Intel-VT [it lists Core Duo though]... I''m not familiar with Wikis, I don''t know how I can change this myself [and I don''t know either if I''m allowed to change it]) Could all the people

Motherboard capable of VT-d
Hi! I''ve got a motherboard (Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R) where the Ethernet port has been broken. I''ll buy a new motherboard, but wants to keep all my other equipment (CPU, Memory, TV-cards etc). The requirements/wishes on the new motherboard are 2 Ethernet ports and 2 PCI slots. It would also be good if it would support VT-d. I''ve found two boards that would fulfill my

Progress on Windows support ?
Hi all, A while ago there was a thread here titled "Xen w/ IntelVT->Windows Success Report" http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-06/msg00452.html I am having a similar problem as this user was in point 6 (Installation hangs at "Setup is starting Windows"). I am running Fedora Core 5 with Xen 3.0.2 and the related kernels installed, and using the

Definitive VT-Enabled CPU List?
Is there a definitive list for VT-enabled CPUs? Mainly because I have a Dual CPU computer that I want to turn into Xen system and do some cross-platform development etc. It now runs Windows XP, but I don''t want to do anything to it, if I will not be able to put Windows of some sort in one of the dom''s. I was hoping that Xensource.com would put up a testing page, whereas

xen, VT and an OS from Redmond
Hi there We''re planning to buy a new server with a PentiumD with VT. Unfortunately we have some legacy server software which runs on Windows only and for that reason I have to install WindowsXP under Xen3. The problem is that I didn''t find too much documentation (tutorials, howtos, whatever) which describes installation and experiences with WinXP, besides some problem

Decent motherboard with VT-d (Intel) support?
I know most of the motherboards based off of the Intel Q35 northbridge usually have VT-d options for it to be enabled or disabled in the BIOS.  I''ve heard the same for Intel 5400''s and Intel 3200/3210''s but been looking through manuals for various server boards and don''t see VT-d options in the BIOS. However, I was wondering if anyone had success stories or

Intel VT-d success
I just wanted to let you guys know that the Intel 3210SHLX server board works with VT-d. I''ve googled a lot, and could''t find much about it. The BIOS needs to be updated to R0047 for it to be enbled. (or at least later than R0044 which mine was shipped with) I tested exporting a nic to a smothwall hvm domU, works fine. Exporting a 3Ware 9xxx series Raid controller to a WinXP

mainboards with vt-d working
Hi, can someone recommends mainboads+cpu combination with working vt and vt-d for a home server ( means reasonably priced) and with at least 3 pci slots besides the mainboards mentioned in http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo. Would it be worth to wait for AMD iommu technic, which should appear this year ? Thanks Frank _______________________________________________ Xen-users

is Intel VT-d "really" necessary?
Hi all, I'm just curios and would like some input from the community on this one. We're busy budgeting for a couple of new servers and I thought it would be good to try out the Core i7 CPU's, but see the majority of them don't offer VT-d, but just VT-x. Looking at the LGA1366 range, only the "Intel lga1366 i7 980XE" (from the list of what our suppliers stock) have VT-d,

Intel VT-d Support
Hello all, please tell me, how can I be sure that my Xen installation is built with Intel VT-d support? Something like xm info | grep -i KEY-REGULAR-EXPRESSION xm dmesg | grep -i KEY-REGULAR-EXPRESSION What a line should I look for? And if my installation was really built with VT-d support, how can I be sure, that Xen has successfully initialized VT-d hardware? I have read [1] and the

rpart: apply tree to new data to get "counts"
Hi, when I have made a decision tree with rpart, is it possible to "apply" this tree to a new set of data in order to find out the distribution of observations? Ideally I would like to plot my original tree, with the counts (at each node) of the new data. Reagards, Jay

[LLVMdev] summer of code idea — checking bounds overflow bugs
Qiuping, Have you looked at what has already been done? I would expect that taking previous work such as this: http://llvm.org/pubs/2006-05-24-SAFECode-BoundsCheck.html and integrating into current LLVM would be a better idea than starting over.
