I am about to lease another server to be a backup web/mail server with a replicated mysql database. The current live server is a dual Xeon 2.8Ghz. Would I do better to get another Xeon server or an Opteron based server? My concerns are compatibility of the database and the SSL certificate currently running on the Xeon machine. Hello, I have a Dell 1850 with dual Xeon procs and two u320 36Gb drives. I would like to set this up as dual boot system with 4.2 on disk 0 and 3.6 on disk 1. I imagine that I would install 4.2 first and then 3.6. Would I need to remove the other hard drive while installing a given version? Any gotchas? How about setting up GRUB? I renamed my volume with vgrename however I didn't complete the other steps. Mainly update fstab and intiramfs. Once I booted, I was dropped on the Dracut shell. From here I can see the newly rename VG and I can lvm lvscan as well as activate it, lvm vgchange -ay.
