Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image
Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image
That''s the error message I get after installing FC4 and following the
instructions on
http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart
running kernel - 2.6.13.1. I partitioned Fedora to have 6GB on a 30GB
drive.
I have tried adjusting dom0_mem=256M on a system that has 1GB of RAM and
still no luck
Any thoughts?

what the role platform-pci play in comunication between HVM and domain0
Hi,
Can someone interpret how HVM guest communicate with domain0, as i know, H VM can not use event channel directly, is the platform-pci offer a way to solve this?
Please try to explain concretely, for example :
1.how does HVM send a event to domain0, how does domain0 catch this event, and assoicate it with a handler
2.the opposite direction, how does domain0 send event to HVM guest? Does it

Xen 32bit DomainU on Xen 64bit Domain0, is it possible?
Hi!
I have a opteron machine running in 64bit mode. I would like to set up a
Domain0 at 64bit and run 32bit domainU''s on top to use with other 32bit
domains in regular x86 boxes for clustering..
Is this scenario possible, considering the use of Xen3 ?
TIA

network broken on domain0
Hello:
It used to work after I first setting up domain0 and all the guest OSs. Now suddently it won''t work to ping any servers from domain0. Strangely, if I launch any guest OSs on domain 0, those Guest OSs can ping any servers. Rebooting domain0 sometime works sometime won''t work.
Any clues ....
Thanks,
xen

ATA: abnormal status on domain0
I have a problem with SATA disk.
Once, i start up my system (1 domain0 and 2 domainU on the same
machine), it is good. But, where some of them have high traffic and thus
require high disk usage i get this error in dom0''s dmesg:
ATA: abnormal status 0xD0 on port 0x9F7
ATA: abnormal status 0xD0 on port 0x9F7
ATA: abnormal status 0xD0 on port 0x9F7

[PATCH 1/2][Domain0] Fix ACPICA to correctly parse cpufreq information
These two patches are pulled from linux kernel upstream, to allow ACPICA corretly parse cpufreq info from some non-standard BIOS. We find current cpufreq in Xen does not work correctly in some machine, and these two patch fix this issue.

Domain0 mouse acts weird
Hi, I am having a strange issue with xen on Debian Lenny x86_64. Whenever i
start a domU, the mouse pointer in dom0 starts flying all over the screen,
and clicks randomly.
This happens whether I start a domain with or without VNC and/or SDL
enabled/disabled. The domain I am starting is a Debian Lenny x86_64 install
cd, using hvm.
I also get these errors in dmesg: "psmouse.c: resync failed,

I installed Xen on my suse 9.2 system. Up to now I can do the following things:
Boot into XEN

Writing MSRs from Domain0
Hello,
I recently tried Xen 3.0.3-testing on my 2x Opteron-244 SMP machine.
Everything works well exept one detail, which is not unimportant to me:
the powernow-k8 driver fails to switch frequencies. A closer look on the
powernow-k8 source reveals, that some MSR write operations seem to be
without any effect. A rdmsr() before and after the wrmsr() call reveals
that no real change on the register

Xen unlimited memory usage?
Following the Fedora Project Xen Wiki in
http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart#head-41a18dc02f3951a8e18a5283d6fcc1879f31c272, I keep increasing the memory number in /boot/grub/grub.conf because each time I reboot into Xen, I get a "not enough memory allocated" error message. I currently have the Xen kernel dom0_mem set to 500000000000 and still am getting memory

new user - new issues
Just installed Xen 3 on FC5
that all went smooth following:
http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart
I want to however create a FC4 virtual machine -
I attepmpted to use the image at: http://jailtime.org
but it doesnt seem to work (networking fail, most else works great) --
I am thinking that it is because those are for Xen 2 (??)
So, is there another place to get images for Xen 3?

XEN 2.0.1/Xenolinux 2.6.9 domain0 not booting on Debian Sarge / P4 Xeon
Hi all
I am in the process of upgrading my XEN servers from 2.4 to 2.6 kernels
as I am having better results on 2.6.
However one machine (the big daddy) refuses to boot a 2.6.9 xenolinux
kernel. It''s an IBM eSeries xServer x205.
I have selected what i think are the appropriate options in menuconfig
but it refuses to boot into dom0. By refuse I mean it initialises the

Domain0 with Kernel 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen fails to boot Guests with Kernel 2.6.18-164.el5xen
Hi all,
I am in a bit of a fix here, I have several Guests paravirtualized
running on a Dom0 that is currently running the 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen
Kernel. All my guests (administered by different people) have
subsequently been updated to later versions of the kernel (namely
2.6.18-164.el5xen or 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5xen).
Ones that are still running are using the Kernel 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5xen
