RE: Compiling legacy LSI megaraid drivers (Linux 2.6.11)with xen 2.0.7?
Have you checked the compile time in the boot messages to see you''re
actually booting the kernel you think you are?
The compile warnings are nothing to do with Xen.

[OSSTest PATCH 0/2] MegaRAID SAS support and RebootTimeExtra documentation
Hi Ian-s,
Two small patches for OSSTest.
The first one turns on compiling the Linux modules for MegaRAID SAS, needed for
the ultralisk machine in the Cambridge lab. The second adds an entry in the
README file about the RebootTimeExtra host property, which I also needed to use
for ulttralisk, as scrubbing 368GB of RAM really takes a lot!

prob boot xen-4 2.6.32 megaraid
Hallo,
I have to try install xen-4 on dell pe2850 (Raid: perc4).

Enclosed my tests:
1. Compile xen-4.0 + linux-2.6.32 snapshot (Jeremy) from [8] (test 1).
cd /usr/src/xen-b29254c
make all modules modules_install 2>&1 | tee make.out
cp -p ./arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinux-2.6.32

poweredge 1850 won't boot 7.1? maybe LSI-related : amr0: adapter is busy
Hello,
This afternoon I wanted to upgrade to 7.1 two good old dell PowerEdge
servers which were running FreeBSD 6.x. It went fine and quickly on the
poweredge 1950, but it failed completely on the poweredge 1850.
Facts:
- boot cd and setup / operation of freebsd 6.x or 7.0 is fine

megaraid/PERC
I've got two drives from a now-dead server, they were RAIDed, a mirror,
I'd assume. I need to see if there's anything on them I need to transfer
to the replacement, so I just shoved them into another Dell server, with a
PERC 5 controller - I think that's what the dead one had. I fired up
MegaRAID storage manager... but can't see any way to tell it to recreate
that RAID. Anyone

works here fine on the 9261, which is an OEM version of the same card
with the connectors in a different orientation... you might check your
LSI firmware revision.

The NEC compatibility page at
http://www.nec.com/en/global/prod/express/linux/centos.html indicates
that the R120b2 is not certified for CentOS 7. CentOS 5 and 6, yes, but
not 7. As there are other servers

My firmware seems to be more up to date. Anyway, I will try to update
firmware. I have to check how to do that.

Hardware raid LSI Megaraid not working since Centos 6.6
That's weird, because starting with 6.6 we could finally ditch inserting kmods at installation time, the new kernel in 6.6 supported everything.
I believe the model we have (among others) is 9341-4i; I would imagine it's pretty similar with what you have.
You should open perhaps a bugzilla issue with redhat about this.

LSI MegaRAID experience...

anyone using an LSI MegaRAID experienced "disappearing drives"...?
We installed 6 new C6 servers, each with a Supermicro SMC2108 (LSI MegaRAID) controllers and 3 PX-128M5Pro SSDs ( RAID1 + hostswap).
2 weeks (and almost no activity on it, since not in production, apart from installation) later, megacli sees (based on the slot numbers):

LSI MegaRAID system status
Dear list,
I have inherited a CentOS-5 box with a LSI Sata Raid controller.
It is configured as a RAID5 w/hot-standby. My concern is that
I have no present means of determining the RAID status w/o
downing the system and going into the bios to get status. If
a disk has failed and brought the standby disk online, I would
like to know about it, the day it happens by seeing it in syslog
or getting
