xenfb issuing notify_remote_via_irq() too early
After some changes resulting in the irq (since used as an array index) to be converted to unsigned int, we''re observing oopses resulting from xenfb calling notify_remote_via_irq() with -1 as the irq argument. Clearly, the two possible simple work-arounds would be to either make the event channel code always tolerate and ignore invalid irq inputs or to prevent the call to

3.8-rc2: EFI framebuffer lock inversion...
On 3.8-rc2 with lockdep enabled and dual-GPU setup (Macbook Pro Retina), I see two releated lock inversion issues with the EFI framebuffer, leading to possible deadlock: when X takes over from the EFI framebuffer [1] and when nouveau releases the framebuffer when being vgaswitcherood [2]. Let me know if you'd like any testing or analysis when I can get the time. Many thanks, Daniel ---

Centos 7 - how to resurrect /dev/fb0? Or an alternative to fbterm for 256 color tty terminals?
Hi Everyone! I've been trying to rediscover the lost art of appliance-ification. SystemD is actually pretty amenable to masking tty1 and spawning a program instead of login which makes a config console a rather easy thing to do (mostly). Have that bit done, no problem. Happily spawning a rather locked down program. However, you seem to be limited in terms of color palette, creating a new

Weird Network issue
Hi all: I am pretty new to xen, but ,thanks to you, I am learning fast :) I have a Dell Poweredge 2950 server running Debian Lenny as Dom0 named Asgard I have configured three DomU (Loki, Hermod and Thor) with DHCP support. All the machines (Dom0 and DomU''s) ask for an IP address to a DHCP server in the Office LAN. The DHCP server is configured to bind certain IP addresses to the Dom0

rsync hangs on w2k server running cygwin
Hi, I'm having trouble getting a clean run of rsync on a w2k server running cygwin. Basically, it appears that the commands are running to completion (i.e. files are being copied) but the command does not return to a command prompt (or continue to the next command when run via a script). The machine is a w2k server completely up-to-date with all service packs (SP2) and updates. I have just

lost status code
Rsync reports the status code of the remote command. So in some situations the status code is successful when the command fails. Rsync of a remote file to a local read-only directory fails, but exits with $status = 0. I'd like to get $status = 23. Is it possible? Local copy fails with status = 23 > mkdir /tmp/nowrite > chmod -w /tmp/nowrite > rsync /etc/group /tmp/nowrite || echo

I sent the file to you and the list but it appears to have bounced off the list server. Did you get the direct copy? Bug or not?
Hi Evan! Sorry for taking so long before answering... Thanks for the greps! It appears you have a newer version of apple_gmux than I have, so let's see if something also changed in the _DSM method. Could you please run - as root - `acpidump -b -n DSDT` which will create a file named dsdt.dat containing the DSDT table, and then run `iasl -d dsdt.dat` and send me the resulting dsdt.dsl file?

I read your message about using the Loki Linux Unreal Tournament engine to play Unreal. I have the original Unreal Windows version CD and would like to play it on Linux but can't get the Loki version to recognize the CD. Can you tell me which files to download from Loki and how to install them? Thanks, Rick Knight (rick@rlknight.com)

Unreal again
Not to take away from wine, but loki (www.loki.com) has released a patch that will install and update UT into a Linux game, where Wine, or any other package, would not be needed. I have it running and it works great! -----Original Message----- From: Richard Knight [mailto:rick_knight@rlknight.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2001 7:27 PM To: wine-users@winehq.com Subject: Re: Unreal again Where

Re: If you think getting Windows games working in Wine is hard .
David Gerard > ... try getting old Linux binaries to work in a current Linux. It's > actually harder. Really depends on how, distrobution and application. If you have a openvz kernel not that hard just bulky. With a openvz kernel you just install both versions of Linux. Linux kernel has binary compatibility with applications. Its the .so files above it that give nice fun issues.

GraphApp version 3
Hi, I'm the developer of GraphApp, which is a graphics and user interface toolkit which I believe has been used by your "R" package. I don't know whether GraphApp is still used in "R", but I thought you should know there is a new version of GraphApp available (version 3) which is built around a solid, portable core of graphics operations and is independent of Motif,
