Problem with Dell Poweredge 1850
All, I seem to be experiencing the same problem that Michal Urbanski talked about in an email dated March 24th with a subject of "hanging dell hardware". Looking through the archives I can not find any resolution to the problem. The specs on my machine are Dell Poweredge 1850 Dual Xeon 2.8s 1gig ram PERC 4e/SI raid controller in mirror configuration with 2 73 gb drives (uses the

Xen, NFS performance, rsize, wsize and MTU
We have a Xen 3.0 / Linux kernel 2.6.15 machine with the domU''s configured for shared /home directories. One of the domU''s is an NFS server, exporting /home, and the other domU''s all mount this. It all functions fine, but it''s pretty slow. I tried untarring a recent Linux kernel tarball. On the NFS server domU this takes about 25 seconds. I didn''t

Installing redhat 7.2 under debian
Hello, I want to install xen to run old versions of redhat (7.2,7.3 etc) on my debian sarge machine. Is it actually possible to use xen like a virtual machine to do this ? The hardware is very new and will not be supported by redhat 7.2, which is why I was thinking of using xen to do this. Is there any documentation about installing multiple distros on a machine. I saw some screenshots of it,

seemingly no good way to end bulleted list and start code block
Howdy, The following bug report was sent to the Debian BTS. Is there a way to have a code block immediately follow an unordered list? ----- Forwarded message from Joey Hess <joeyh at debian.org> ----- Consider this markdown: * bla * bla2 this should be treated as code block and it is not ... but if bullets are not above this, it works If the first code block is indented with

Markdown.pl 1.0.2b8
Download: <http://daringfireball.net/projects/downloads/Markdown_1.0.2b8.tbz> Changes from 1.0.2b7: + Fixed bug with nested raw HTML tags that contained attributes. The problem is that it uses a backreference in the expression that it passes to gen_extract_tagged, which is broken when Text::Balanced wraps it in parentheses. Thanks to Matt Kraai for

ANN: svn_conf generator -- making "svn import" easy and fun
Rails make it easy to start a new application. At the same time, import a new project into Subversion is not that simple -- there are quite few files that should be ignored. I used to manually remove added log files and tmp/cache, tmp/sessions, tmp/sockets files after the import and then go through the painful process of setting svn:ignore properties. There is an easier way -- simply

Discourage the weights= option of lm with summarized data
OK. We have now three suggestions to repair the text: - remove the text - add "not" at the beginning of the text - add at the end of the text a warning; something like: "Note that in this case the standard estimates of the parameters are in general not correct, and hence also the t values and the p value. Also the number of degrees of freedom is not correct. (The parameter

Yes. Thank you; I should have quoted it. I suggest to remove this text or to add the word "not" at the beginning. vnc servers do not run
Hi all, I have Xen 3.0.3 installed on Debian Etch 4.0. The problem I have with it is that vncservers are not run for guest domains (also Etch), nomatter I specify vfb = [ ''type=vnc'' ], or not. Does Xen 3.0.3 support vnc frame buffers, or do I have to upgrade Xen? I know that Xen 3.1 creates vncservers with no problems. Thanks _______________________________________________

Discourage the weights= option of lm with summarized data
Indeed: Using 'weights' is not meant to indicate that the same observation is repeated 'n' times. As I showed, this gives erroneous results. Hence I suggested that it is discouraged rather than encouraged in the Details section of lm in the Reference manual. Hi, I use asterisk with sip3000 device with "sip-aho" connected to PSTN and "sip-ahi" connected to a phone. When call arrives from PSTN, the *phone continues ringing even after caller hanged up*. The dialplan contains the following lines: [from-pstn] ... exten => 99,n,Dial(SIP/sip-ahi,30,g) exten => 99,n,Hangup() The asterisk properly detects hangup of the caller as I

Wine problems
Hello everyone, My name is Jason and I'm new to this mailing list, although I've been using Wine for several months now. I say that loosely, as I really haven't been able to get many applications to run, so I come to all of you now seeking help. One of the biggest reasons I try to use Wine is to play games. I tried Cedega about a month ago, and couldn't get most of my Windows
