RE: dom0 Errors
Which version of Xen?
This usually happens when someone has built a module and forgotten to do
"make ARCH=xen"

CentOS-4 Xen kernel with low RAM and Badness in local_bh_enable at kernel/softirq.c:141
I have small xen VM running centos4 which acts as a router/firewall, and has
been working fine for over 1.5 years with 32MB of RAM and a kernel I either
got from xensource.org or built myself from their sources. (centos 4 didn't
have a xen kernel back then)
I lost the kernel to a corrupted disk and decided to use the centos provided
xen kernel.
All these months 32MB + 64MB Swap was more than

New firefox causing anyone else problems - CentOS 4.X?
Looks like Firefox may be getting another update soon, if my problem is
not atypical. Prior to the latest, had NP for *months*. Anyone else
seeing any problems?
BTW, running the recent Java console from sun that was detailed in
another thread a week or two back with Firefox. Had NP prior to the
latest update, if that offers any useful info. Would like to test the
openjdk for us if it's

This is a native Linux bug. A patch has been submitted upstream, but is
already in our 2.0-testing and unstable

Kernel panic (2.4.21-47)
Hi,
We have a server which seems to panic once a while. I was wondering
does the stack trace make any sense to you.
The server usually runs a week or more and then crashes.
Here is all what we had on the server screen when it crashed (hope I
didn't make any typos):
CPU: 0
EIP: 0060:[<c0168380>] Not tainted
EFLAGS: 00010297
EIP: is at do_pollfd [kernel] 0x20

what to do about [abrt] full crash report kernel taint?
I have a machine with a recent install of centos
(2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.x86_64 kernel). It crashed 3 times this week, and
sent emails like the one below complaining about kernel taint. I've
gone back to a previous kernel to see if that helps, but otherwise I
don't know how to investigate this. What should I do?
Here's stuff from the log and one of the emails:

Page allocation failure and slow system
Hi all.
Every few days I am getting a message that looks like the one I have cut
and pasted below.
It is accompanied by a severe slowdown of the system. In fact, it's
practically locked.
The machine runs gnome-desktops for 40 users plus about a hundred
sessions of a curses based point of sale software, plus a few other
functions, so it's a busy machine. Dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors.

Problem with CentOS 4.3 on kernel and ipvsadm
I have installed two CentOS 4.3 boxes with LVS (from
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/csgfs/ ) but all boxes died withe this
error frequently:
kernel panic - not syncing: fs/block_dev.c:396: spin_lock
(fs/block_dev.c:c0361c0) already locked by fs/block_dev.c/287.
I have read from this thread http://threebit.net/mail-archive/centos/msg00243.html that this is an unsolved problem.
So i have

Badness in local_bh_enable at kernel/softirq.c:140
I''m getting subj trying to run linux-iscsi-4.0.2 on domain0.
I tried xen-2.0.6, xen-2-test and xen-3-devel. The same results.
I found similar complaints regarding this problem like below:

http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0503.1/1621.html
Not sure if it is xen or linux-iscsi related bug.
Any ideas how to cure it

Bug: 2.2.20pre/ext3 0.0.7a crash apparently in sys_close()
Apologies for a vague and wooly bug report, but I can't reproduce this
on my test systems - I *can* reproduce it on some production ones like a
flash.... but that seems to upset our operations guys :-(
I am getting a set of crashes on some boxes in the field, apparently
related to high network traffic (this only occurs on boxes with ethernet
connectivity back to the centre rather than the

BUG: warning at kernel/softirq.c:141
Hello ext3-users,
we have an oopsy situation here:
we have 4 machines: 3 client nodes, 1 master: the master holds a fairly
big repository of small files. The repo's current size is ~40GB
with ~1.2 M files in ~100 directories. Now, we like to rsync changes
from the master to the client nodes, which is working perfectly for 2
nodes, but our 3rd node oopses "sometimes", rendering

sandbox pre-auth privsep child
Hi,
This patch (relative to -HEAD) defines an API to allow sandboxing of the
pre-auth privsep child and a couple of sandbox implementations.
The idea here is to heavily restrict what the network-face pre-auth
process can do. This was the original intent behind dropping to a
dedicated uid and chrooting to an empty directory, but even this still
allows a compromised slave process to make new

[klibc 17/43] sparc32: transfer arch-specific options to /arch.cmd
Boot options which have been obtained in an architecture-specific
fashion have to be copied to /arch.cmd in the rootfs. This implements
that functionality for sparc32; the code is identical to sparc64 minus
the openprom support for obtaining nfsroot options.
