OCFS2 CLUSTER HANG
Hi, IHAC with an OCFS2 1.4 2-node cluster in RedHat 5.3 x86-64. Basically for explanation simplicity the software uses the cluster for writing in a log file up to 500Mb size, among other things (file read, etc) Last monday there was a problem somewhere (software is a two-node application server) that caused the software to hang, and it seems both application servers was waiting each other for

Error mounting ocfs2 partition...
Hi, I'm new to this list and to the ocfs2 system and to clustering in general (3 strikes?--ack!). I have some problems with my first attempt at configuring an ocfs2 system and need some perspective. My setup is a Compaq Proliant CL380 2 node cluster with a shared storage array. Both nodes are currently running SLES 10. However, I am just trying to get one node working. I have read the

MySQL ISAM can't start from OCFS2 filesystem
Hello friends, I've got a strange problem with my cluster-setup. I've got two nodes called www1 and www2 running Ubuntu Linux 8.10. The have a 50G volume which is replicated in primary/primary mode with DRBD. On this volume there is an OCSF2 filesystem with this two nodes. Everything is working really fine, files are perfectly mirrored, really nice. On one of the

ocfs2 filesystem seems out of sync
Hi there I recently installed an OCFS2 filesystem on our FC-SAN. Everything seemed to work fine and I could read & write the filesystem from both servers that are mounting it. After a while though, writes coming from one node do not appear on the other node and vice versa. I am not sure what's causing this, and not very experienced at debugging filesystems. If anybody has any

Filesystem usage after mkfs.ocfs2
Hi ! I recognized today that if I create a new filesystem that already 2% of the filesystem are used: /dev/mapper/raid3VG-sts007 79G 1.1G 78G 2% /srv/xyz/sts/007 even if the filesystem is completly empty. What are this 2% of (hidden) data or is it some kind of reserved blocks ? yours Arnold -- Arnold Maderthaner J4Care Inc.

Re: URGENT: OCFS2 hang - 32 node cluster POC
Run: # top # vmstat 1 # iostat -x /dev/emcpowerb 1 The latter two you can save to a file. For top, just monitor cpu usage and see if any process is hogging all of it. Ghost files in OCFS2 filesystem
Hi, I have encountered an issue on an Oracle RAC cluster using ocfs2, OS is RH Linux 5.3. One of the ocfs2 filesystems appears to be 97% full, yet when I look at the files in there they only equal about 13gig (filesystems is 40gig in size). I have seen this sort of thing in HP-UX but that involved a process who's output file was deleted but the process hadn't been stopped properly, once

Linux RHEL 5.2 hangs for 1.5 hrs while fsck'ing the OCFS2 file system
Hi there, A month ago we ran into the fsck issue while rebooting one of the Oracle RAC nodes running on Linux RHEL 5.2. It was hanging for 1.5 hours During the reboot, OS portion went fine, then it activated the data volumes in all data vg's with [OK] Then displayed message: Checking filesystems - and it took it 1.5 hrs, then it finished the reboot. Last weekend we rebooted the same box and

OCFS2 shared volume getting slow when you add more nodes
Hello, I have a cluster with two nodes, with SLES10 as base system. First I powered on one node, and the system is working just fine. Then, when a second node was added, the performance came down pretty bad. Any hints or ideas about this behaviour? OCFS2 problems when connectivity lost
Hello, We are having a problem with a 3-node cluster based on Pacemaker/Corosync with 2 primary DRBD+OCFS2 nodes and a quorum node. Nodes run on Debian Squeeze, all packages are from the stable branch except for Corosync (which is from backports for udpu functionality). Each node has a single network card. When the network is up, everything works without any problems, graceful shutdown of

mount.ocfs2: Value too large ...
Hallo, I have two servers and both are connected to external array, each by own SAS connection. I need these servers to work simultaneously with data on array and I think that ocfs2 is suitable for this purpose. One server is P4 Xeon (Gentoo linux, i386, 2.6.22-r2) and second is Opteron (Gentoo linux, x86_64, 2.6.22-r2). Servers are connected by ethernet, adapters are both Intel

Possible problems with sharing an ocfs2 filesystem using NFS
Hello, I would like to know what problems can derive from using NFS over an ocfs2 mounted filesystem. I ask this because I have several servers depending on a NFS server and wish to change this architecture to a non centralized one. I will use ocfs2 but I wanted, in case I get any problems with the ocfs2 cluster, to be able to reuse the old architecture, which would be NFS over an ocfs2
