OCFS processes active after a umount [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]
Hello,
I have two OCFS file file systems mounted at /ocfs_1 and /ocfs_2. I have
unmounted both OCFS file systems and was trying to then offline and
unload OCFS. The offline command failed with -
# ./o2cb offline

Looking at the processes on this box shows a number of OCFS processes

cluster with 2 nodes - heartbeat problem fencing
Hi to all, this is My first time on this mailinglist.
I have a problem with Ocfs2 on Debian etch 4.0
I'd like when a node go down or freeze without unmount the ocfs2 partition
the heartbeat not fence the server that work well ( kernel panic ).
I'd like disable or heartbeat or fencing. So we can work also with only 1
node.
Thanks

Add a new node to ocfs cluster
Hi everybody,
My problem is that I want to add a new node to an existing RAC with ocfs2, without stop the database.
If I add a new node to an existing ocfs cluster, do I need to stop the ocfs in the others nodes of the cluster?
I've tried to do it without stop the ocfs in the others nodes but I get the following error:

question about oracle shared home install
Hi All,
Scenario: I'm trying to install 9i rac on a 2 node cluster on OCFS2
OS: Oracle enterprise linux
To my understanding, OCFS2 supports shared home installs which to my
knowledge is not only can i have datafile and control files but also
clustermanager files and binaries (pretty much everything: no files or
executables need to kept local to any nodes). I have one single shared
file for

ocfs2 fencing problem
Hi, Sunil or Tao,
I have a 4 nodes OCFS2 cluster running OCFS2 1.2.8 on SuSE 9 SP4. When I
tried to do failover testing (shutting down one node), the whole cluster
hung (I can not even login to any server in the cluster). I have to
bring all of them up and then be able to use the system. What kind of
behavior is it? Is it the fence of OCFS2? Below is my configuration.

Lost ocfs mount point on one node between two shared servers
Hello All,
Is it normal to lose a shared node in OCFS shared servers? We have either lost the whole ocfs mount point or lost mount point on one of the shared nodes couple of times. Is this due to some misconfiguration?
Thanks,

df showing wrong size
Hello... it was put under my attention that a partition we have in one of our production system was displaying wrong size with df command.... 123 GB... but in fact the size of all the files is a mere 15 GB.... What is going on? Shall we use ocfs.fsck to fix that? Is strange...
Thanks for any comment....

mounting ocfs2 partitions on boot
Hi list,
today, I installed a two node Oracle 10g RAC system on SLES9 SP2 RC2 which
shares
(via a SAN) a database volume and a quorum (ocr and voting). This volumes
are formated
with ocfs2 - so far no problem.
At the moment I'm stuck with the mounting of these volumes at boot time.
The user-guide
of ocfs2-tools mentions to add the corresponding lines to fstab - but at
the time when

OCFS2 and Cloning
I am working currently on cloning on a regular basis our production
OCFS2 volumes to our test environment. For the database (Oracle 10G R2
RAC) we put it into backup mode, then execute a Snapclone on our 3Par
SAN. Then we use RemoteCopy and SnapClone to our development 3Par SAN.
To recover the OCFS2 volume I got through the following steps:
Stop database
umount /export/<volume name>

ENC: ENC: Unresolved Symbols on Uniprocessor Ker nel
Hi,
Is this "Unresolved Symbols" issue only occurring on VMware with e.38?
We have OCFS users want to update their kernel to e.34 or e.38 without
VMware.
Please advise, Thanks!

Private Interconnect and self fencing
I have an OCFS2 filesystem on a coraid AOE device.
It mounts fine, but with heavy I/O the server self fences claiming a

As I said before, I'm not a linux expert.
In which file of kernel source can I look for any missing code ? And
specially what do I have to check ?

Different size with du and ls
Hi all,
I stumbled over a curious thing. The Linux tools "df" and "du" aren't
working correctly on an OCFS2 filesystem. "df" shows approx. twice the
size as there is on the volume.
Here how I found out about this issue:
- same dir(a few files more in OCFS but the files are ca. 12 kB in
size), first on XFS second on the OCFS volume

OCFS 1.2.4 memory problems still?
I have a 2 node cluster of HP DL380G4s. These machines are attached via
scsi to an external HP disk enclosure. They run 32bit RH AS 4.0 and
OCFS 1.2.4, the latest release. They were upgraded from 1.2.3 only a
few days after 1.2.4 was released. I had reported on the mailing list
that my developers were happy, and things seemed faster. However, twice
in that time, the cluster has gone down due

hardware needed for OCFS
Hi,
Does OCFS require NAS hardware to run or does normal PC hard disk work?
Thanks,

user-space heartbeat ptaches from suse
Hi everyone.
Does anyone know why the user-space heartbeat (linux-ha) patches
from SuSE / Novell are not commited to the mainline ocfs2 source
tree? Or are they?
Is there an easy way (which does not break the distros package
management) to apply these?
Thanks,
Christian
