Mounting mpath devices in RHEL 5
I'm seeing some strange behavior from OCFS2 while trying to mount mpath/dm-multipath devices under RHEL5. Sometimes I can mount the EMC-connected, dual-pathed volumes just fine and sometimes I get "device busy" errors. I've tried mounting by label and also by explicit /dev/mapper/mpathXpY name with the same unpredictable behavior. I've also noticed that sometimes when a

OCFS2 volumes do no mount automatically on RHEL4 also
On RHEL4 also, the service o2cb starts later than _netdev device mounts. So mount fails. Should the o2cb service start earlier to fix this? Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC?
Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC? If you have an existing RAC installation and you want to use ocfs2 for shared files but not for the OCR or Voting Disks, do you need to reinstall the Oracle Clusterware after installing OCFS2? mounting a snapshot for backup.
Hi I have an ocfs2 volume (1.4.1) on lvm2, which is made available on 2 nodes via dual primary drbd that is on it. I wanted to backup my volume, so naturally I made a snapshot of it via the lvm2, and tried to mount it for backing up. However, I got the following error in dmesg : [319981.478168] (23483,0):ocfs2_fill_super:700 ERROR: Unable to create per-mount debugfs root. I then searched

OCFS2 1.2/1.6
We are in the process of migrating to new database servers. Our current RAC clusters are running OCFS2 1.2.9 on RHEL 4. Our new servers are running OCFS2 1.6 OEL5. If possible, we would like to minimize the amount of data that needs to move as we migrate to the new servers. We have the following questions: 1. Can we mount an existing OCFS2 1.2 volume on a servers running OCFS2 1.6?

Unable to set the o2cb heartbeat to global
Hi, I have added heartbeat mode as global, but when I do a mkfs and mount, and then check the mount, it says I am in local mode. Even /sys/kernel/config/cluster/ocfs2/heartbeat/mode says local.
