[PATCH v2] ocfs2: fix use-after-free when unmounting read-only filesystem
It's trivial to trigger a use-after-free bug in the ocfs2 quotas code using fstest generic/452. After a read-only remount, quotas are suspended and ocfs2_mem_dqinfo is freed through ->ocfs2_local_free_info(). When unmounting the filesystem, an UAF access to the oinfo will eventually cause a crash. BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in timer_delete+0x54/0xc0 Read of size 8 at addr

[SUGGESSTION 1/1] OCFS2: automatic dlm hash table size
backgroud: ocfs2 dlm uses a hash table to store dlm_lock_resource objects. the often used lookup is performed on the hash table. problem: for usages that there are huge number of inodes(thus huge number of dlm_lock_resource objects) in a ocfs2 volume, the lookup performance becomes a problem. the lookup holds spin_lock which could put all others cpus into the state of aquring the spinlock. if

Adding new nodes to OCFS2?
I looked around, found older post which seems not applicable anymore. I have a cluster of 2 nodes right now, which has 3 OCFS2 file systems. All the file systems were formatted with 4 node slots. I added the two news nodes (by hand, by ocfs2console and o2cb_ctl), so my /etc/ofcfs/cluster.conf looks right: node: ip_port = 7777 ip_address = 192.168.201.1 number = 0

Ghost files in OCFS2 filesystem
Hi, I have encountered an issue on an Oracle RAC cluster using ocfs2, OS is RH Linux 5.3. One of the ocfs2 filesystems appears to be 97% full, yet when I look at the files in there they only equal about 13gig (filesystems is 40gig in size). I have seen this sort of thing in HP-UX but that involved a process who's output file was deleted but the process hadn't been stopped properly, once

ocfs2 filesystem seems out of sync
Hi there I recently installed an OCFS2 filesystem on our FC-SAN. Everything seemed to work fine and I could read & write the filesystem from both servers that are mounting it. After a while though, writes coming from one node do not appear on the other node and vice versa. I am not sure what's causing this, and not very experienced at debugging filesystems. If anybody has any

[PATCH V3 RESENT] ocfs2: lighten up allocate transaction
Hi Andrew Morton, The patch "[patch 05/22] ocfs2: lighten up allocate transaction" in mm tree is not the newest one, please drop it from mm tree. This patch V3 is newest, please replace it. Thanks. The issue scenario is as following: When fallocating a very large disk space for a small file, __ocfs2_extend_allocation attempts to get a very large transaction. For some journal

ocfs2 questions
We are in the process of upgrading to OCFS2. We have recently restored our Production Database to a Development platform configured with OCFS2 with RMAN. No problems. As for the Production migration, we understand that you cannot mount an OCFS volume (our current configuration) with OCFS2. We are interested in mounting an EXT3 file system, performing a cold RMAN backup, copying the datafiles

OCFS2 1.2/1.6
We are in the process of migrating to new database servers. Our current RAC clusters are running OCFS2 1.2.9 on RHEL 4. Our new servers are running OCFS2 1.6 OEL5. If possible, we would like to minimize the amount of data that needs to move as we migrate to the new servers. We have the following questions: 1. Can we mount an existing OCFS2 1.2 volume on a servers running OCFS2 1.6?
