[git patches] ocfs2 MAINTAINERS update
Hi Linus,
I've taken a new job at SUSE labs, so my e-mail address needs an
update. Going forward, I'll co-maintain Ocfs2 with Joel Becker so we need to
put his information in there as well. Kurt deserves a very large amount of
credit for his work on Ocfs2, but he has since moved on to other projects,
so we'll just put Joel in his spot.
So, it should more or less be business as

[Patch] We resolve the throughput drop problemwhe nr eading filesin OCFS2 volume in the patch "ocfs2-truncate-pages-1.patch"a gainstsvn 1226.
We are also thinking about locking for each read/write, but would its =
overhead be too high?
We have another idea that is extending the function of flock, lockf, =
fcntl to distributed.
So any application that need strict data consistent can do a lock =
operation on the whole or part of the file.
For ordinary application, maybe the current logic is enough.
How about it?

OCFS2 final on-disk format changes are going in
Hi all,
We just finished up the last of the work to change the on-disk format of
ocfs2 and we are about to move this from the branch into trunk in svn.
We tried very hard to make every conceivable change that we would want
in this last pass so that this would be the final on-disk change.
What this means for any of you who are tracking this project is that you
will need to reformat before picking

[git patches] ocfs2 updates
This set of patches includes a few dlm related fixes from Kurt, and a small,
trivial cleanup by Adrian.
Also included are three disk allocation patches by me - two fixes and one
incremental improvement in our allocation strategy. These have been around
since early June, so I think they've had enough testing that they can go
upstream.

Re: Revision 559 of ocfs2/src/inc/io.h
John,
This makes a little more sense if you take a look at the related changes
over in hash.c and the change to the prototype of ocfs_bh_sem_lock_modify
in proto.h. This is one of those instances where you absolutely require
a macro in order to get at the __FUNCTION__, __FILE__ and __LINE__
preprocessor magic.
The problem we were trying to solve here was that we were hitting a lot

Re: [Xen-changelog] [linux-2.6.18-xen] xen: make gntdev code configurable
Hi,
Looks like this patch broke automated builds due to a lack of a matching
line in the defconfigs. Below is a patch that makes this a module for
xen and xen0, unconfigured for xenU. That might not be the best thing
here however.
Thanks

Fwd: RE: OCFS Hang
Oh yeah - easy way to check, Randy:
Next time your node hangs, get on the OTHER NODE and go into each
directory where files are being opened (datafiles, archivelogs,
controlefiles, redo logs, etc) and delete a file (you can create one
first then delete it). If this causes the hung node to recover then
you're having the same problem I was having.

Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC?
Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC?
If you have an existing RAC installation and you want to use ocfs2 for shared files but not for the OCR or Voting Disks, do you need to reinstall the Oracle Clusterware after installing OCFS2?

Nick Donatone

Oracle control file on OCFS2 without datavolume, nointr
We had someone from Oracle support move one of the database control files on
an OCFS2 volume that's not mounted with datavolume, nointr (he moved it
to /opt/oracle). At that time I didn't realize the problem.
We'll move the control file to a volume that's mounted with datavolume, nointr
options.
The question is: how bad is it?
We are experiencing some serious problems,

OCFS2 with Oracle Resilvering.
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if OCFS2 is having any support for Oracle
resilvering feature? Does OCFS2 co-ordinate with Oracle resilvering
mechanism before starting its recovery in case of crash and so?
Thanks.

Ocfs2 with corosync and pacemaker on oracle Linux 7
Dear All,
Would like your advise if anyone have setup ocfs2 on oracle Linux 7

I've search the net but all guide seem to be dated to 2012 and somehow
outdated or I don't get it.
I know that the ocfs2 default cluster lock o2cb don't support lock CTDB
need thus need to change that to pacemaker and corosync.
Please help.

Min Wai.

Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2
Hi,
I'm setting up a 2-node Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2.
But I have some problems with understanding how the shared Oracle_Home
is being used.
For instance there is the *$ORACLE_HOME/oracm/admin/cmcfg.ora* file. The
$ORACLE_HOME is on
the SAN so the 2 nodes have access to this file. How will the settings
then be done per node?
Is there a guide/tutorial/howto for installing Oracle 9i RAC on

[PATCH 1/3] ocfs2: Add missing iput() during error handling in ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock()
Mainline commit a5a0a630922a2f6a774b6dac19f70cb5abd86bb0
In ocfs2_dentry_attach_lock(), if unable to get the dentry lock, we need to
call iput(inode) because a failure here means no d_instantiate(), which means
the normally matching iput() will not be called during dput(dentry).
This patch fixes the oops that accompanies the following message:
(3996,1):dlm_empty_lockres:2708 ERROR: lockres
