[PATCH] the ac->ac_allow_chain_relink=0 won't disable group relink
From: "Xiaowei.Hu" <xiaowei.hu at oracle.com> ocfs2_block_group_alloc_discontig() disables chain relink by setting ac->ac_allow_chain_relink = 0 because it grabs clusters from multiple cluster groups. It doesn't keep the credits for all chain relink, but ocfs2_claim_suballoc_bits overrides this in this call trace:

[PATCH 0/3] ocfs2: Switch over to JBD2.
ocfs2 currently uses the Journaled Block Device (JBD) for its journaling. This is a very stable and tested codebase. However, JBD is limited by architecture to 32bit block numbers. This means an ocfs2 filesystem is limited to 2^32 blocks. With a 4K blocksize, that's 16TB. People want larger volumes. Fortunately, there is now JBD2. JBD2 adds 64bit block number support and some other

[PATCH 1/5] ocfs2: Pin journal head before accessing jh->b_committed_data
This patch adds jbd_lock_bh_state() and jbd_unlock_bh_state() around accessses to jh->b_committed_data. [PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: anti stale inode for nfs (V5)
changes from v4: 1, let suballoc lock covers the checking of the group. 2, add/correct some log messages. 3, use ocfs2_read_group_descriptor() instead of diry reading the group. [PATCH] ocfs2: Provide the ocfs2_dlm_lvb_valid() stack API.
The Lock Value Block (LVB) of a DLM lock can be lost when nodes die and the DLM cannot reconstruct its state. Clients of the DLM need to know this. ocfs2's internal DLM, o2dlm, explicitly zeroes out the LVB when it loses track of the state. This is not a standard behavior, but ocfs2 has always relied on it. Thus, an o2dlm LVB is always "valid". ocfs2 now supports both o2dlm and

[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: anti stale inode for nfs (V6.2)
#against V6, corrects some format problem pointed out by checkpatch.pl. For nfs exporting, ocfs2_get_dentry() returns the dentry for fh. ocfs2_get_dentry() may read from disk(when inode not in memory) without any cross cluster lock. this leads to load a stale inode. this patch fixes above problem. solution is that in case of inode is not in memory, we get the cluster lock(PR) of alloc inode

[PATCH 2/5] ocfs2/dlm: add lockres as parameter to dlm_new_lock()
Wether the dlm_lock needs to access lvb or not depends on dlm_lock_resource it belongs to. So a new parameter "struct dlm_lock_resource *res" is added to dlm_new_lock() so that we can know if we need to allocate lvb for the dlm_lock. And we have to make the lockres availale for calling dlm_new_lock(). Signed-off-by: Wengang Wang <wen.gang.wang at oracle.com> ---

[PATCH 1/1] OCFS2: anti stale inode for nfs (V4)
changes from v3: 1, move codes that checks inode allocation bit to subfunction ocfs2_test_inode_bit(). 2, release the suballoc lock just after we get it. we should release it asap and doing so doesn't affect functionility. 3, add inode alloc slot validation. [PATCH 0/62] Ocfs2 updates for 2.6.26-rc1
The following series of patches comprises the bulk of our outstanding changes for Ocfs2. Aside from the usual set of cleanups and fixes that were inappropriate for 2.6.25, there are a few highlights: The '/sys/o2cb' directory has been moved to '/sys/fs/o2cb'. The new location meshes better with modern sysfs layout. A symbolic link has been placed in the old location so as to

[PATCH Resend] ocfs2: free allocated clusters if error occurs after ocfs2_claim_clusters
From: Zongxun Wang <wangzongxun at huawei.com> Even if using the same jbd2 handle, we cannot rollback a transaction. So once some error occurs after successfully allocating clusters, the allocated clusters will never be used and it means they are lost. For example, call ocfs2_claim_clusters successfully when expanding a file, but failed in ocfs2_insert_extent. So we need free the allocated

ocfs2: why not set EROFS when clearing bits multiple times
In ocfs2_block_group_clear_bits, when num_bits != bits_cleared, it just log an error message without setting EROFS. The code is below: /* * If encountered, it means we are clearing bits multiple times. While * we are handling the case, we still need to be alerted to its * occurrence. Hence, marking it as an ERROR and not NOTICE. */ if (num_bits != bits_cleared) { mlog(ML_ERROR,

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 fixes
Linus, et al, Here are the outstanding ocfs2 fixes we have for 2.6.30. The important ones are journal credit fixes for the new indexed directories. There's also MAINTAINERS update for my ocfs2 git tree. Please pull. Joel The following changes since commit 612392307cb09e49051225092cbbd7049bd8db93: Ryusuke Konishi (1): nilfs2: support nanosecond timestamp are available in the

[PATCH 1/3] ocfs2: Optimize inode allocation by remembering last group.
In ocfs2, the inode block search looks for the "emptiest" inode group to allocate from. So if an inode alloc file has many equally (or almost equally) empty groups, new inodes will tend to get spread out amongst them, which in turn can put them all over the disk. This is undesirable because directory operations on conceptually "nearby" inodes force a large number of seeks. So

[PATCH] ocfs2: correctly update i_used in ocfs2_free_local_alloc_bits
This patch is based on ocfs2-free-allocated-clusters-if-error-occurs- after-ocfs2_claim_clusters.patch. https://oss.oracle.com/pipermail/ocfs2-devel/2013-November/009461.html We should note down num of bits to be freed, so as to update i_used correspondingly after clearing those bits in bitmap.
