Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC?
Is the order important when installing ocfs2 and Oracle RAC? If you have an existing RAC installation and you want to use ocfs2 for shared files but not for the OCR or Voting Disks, do you need to reinstall the Oracle Clusterware after installing OCFS2? Oracle control file on OCFS2 without datavolume, nointr
We had someone from Oracle support move one of the database control files on an OCFS2 volume that's not mounted with datavolume, nointr (he moved it to /opt/oracle). At that time I didn't realize the problem. We'll move the control file to a volume that's mounted with datavolume, nointr options. The question is: how bad is it? We are experiencing some serious problems,

Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2
Hi, I'm setting up a 2-node Oracle 9i RAC on OCFS2. But I have some problems with understanding how the shared Oracle_Home is being used. For instance there is the *$ORACLE_HOME/oracm/admin/cmcfg.ora* file. The $ORACLE_HOME is on the SAN so the 2 nodes have access to this file. How will the settings then be done per node? Is there a guide/tutorial/howto for installing Oracle 9i RAC on

ZFS caught resilvering when only one side of mirror persent
When I booted my laptop up this morning it took much longer than normal and there was a lot of disk activity even after I logged in. A quick use of dtrace and iostat revealed that all the writes were to the zpool. I ran zpool status and found that the pool was resilvering. Strange thing is that while the pool is a mirror, one side of it is offline since it is on an external usb disk - which

Slow Resilvering Performance
I know this topic has been discussed many times... but what the hell makes zpool resilvering so slow? I''m running OpenSolaris 2009.06. I have had a large number of problematic disks due to a bad production batch, leading me to resilver quite a few times, progressively replacing each disk as it dies (and now preemptively removing disks.) My complaint is that resilvering ends up

Ocfs2 with corosync and pacemaker on oracle Linux 7
Dear All, Would like your advise if anyone have setup ocfs2 on oracle Linux 7 (free) with corosync and also pacemaker. I've search the net but all guide seem to be dated to 2012 and somehow outdated or I don't get it. I know that the ocfs2 default cluster lock o2cb don't support lock CTDB need thus need to change that to pacemaker and corosync. Please help. Regards, Min Wai.

Resilvering Loop
I have a situation where my zpool (with two radiz2s) is resilvering and reaches a certain point, then starts over. There no read, write or checksum errors. The disks do have a fair amount of resilvering to do, as I''ve had a variety of disk failures. But at the core of things, there''s enough parity data to avoid data loss, and the zpool is functioning fine, albeit in a

Quantifying OCFS2 network traffic...
Hi all, I'm trying to understand and quantify network traffic for a 32 node high performance OCFS2 installation. Part of what I'm doing is attempting to size the network hardware requirements. To do this I need some help understanding the kinds and amounts of traffic generated during "normal" use. Once populated, the system will have a very high READ to WRITE op ratio. I
