ORACM upgrade question - ORA-29702
Hi: I'm not sure if this is the right place to post. I've just joined some of these lists following OOW 2003. I had a cluster db working sporadically, but now it won't start after upgrading my oracm from 9.2.0.1.0.31 to 9.2.0.2.0.41 on both nodes. node1 RH 7.3 kernel 2.4.20-rc2-orafw oracm 9.2.0.2.0.41 oracle 9.2.0.2.0 OCFS-1.0-up node2 RH 8.0 kernel 2.4.20-rc2-orafw oracm

Suse (SLES8) Kerberos
I've got the book Samba-3 By Example and I'm trying to get my Samba to work with our Active Directory Server. But for that I need Samba 3, which was no problem since I found rpms at http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/sles8-i386/ (You can also find rpms for other distros there). But the book also tells me that I need either Heimdal 0.6 (plus specific patches) or MIT Kerberos 1.3.1 or

Order of methods for optimx
Dear R-er, For a non-linear optimisation, I used optim() with BFGS method but it stopped regularly before to reach a true mimimum. It was not a problem with limit of iterations, just a local minimum. I was able sometimes to reach better minimum using several rounds of optim(). Then I moved to optimx() to do the different optim rounds automatically using "Nelder-Mead" and

Oracle Instant Client 11g on CentOS 5 (32-bit) workaround
I downloaded the RPMs from the Oracle web site (otn.oracle.com) and successfully installed them on my C5 box, but the sqlplus client software would not run properly. After a few iterations with sealert, I finally got a handle on what was happening. It turns out that most of the shared libraries Oracle installs need to have their SElinux file context modified to allow relocation. Here's

3.0.20pre1 - Test in NT4 Domain using "winbind nested groups"
Guys, I've been testing functionality of this new release in my playpen setup. So far things appear to be working ok, however in an NT4 Domain with "winbind nested groups = yes" defined I see none of the NT4 DC's local groups in Samba, either via wbinfo -g, getent group, or via Windows Explorer security dialogs. Presumably the reasonably recent nested groups support will work

samba 3.0.2 in production on file sever?
Hello! Do someone use Samba 3.0.2 in production on file server? When I tired to migrate our fileserver to 3.0 from 2.2.8a with only 200 (or 300, hmm, I don't remember ;-) ) users, with about a 40-50 users, which use old dos clipper based application, I had locking problems (someone can say that this was not locking problem, but I think so). Now I want to try migration to 3.0.2. But, may be

OCFSv1 for kernel 2.6
Hi, are there plans to make OCSFv1 available for linux kernel 2.6.x ? We would like to upgrade a RAC on SUSE SLES8 to SUSE SLES9. SLES9SP2 will support OCFSv2, but if I understand correctly OCFSv1 and OCFSv2 are not compatible and we have to copy all the DB files from one filesystem to the other. Thanks for your help. bye, Sumit __________________________________________________________ Mit

sharing a private key with other local users of the same group
Hello, we're using the portable OpenSSH (3.8.1p1) with Linux, HP-UX and Solaris. After starting the ssh-agent and adding a private key, I changed the permissions of the socket to 0770, so other users of the same group have access to it. With HP-UX and Solaris this works fine, although with Linux and older OpenSSH versions (3.4p1/SuSE8.1,3.1p1/RedHat7.2). With 3.8.1p1 and Linux
