Mode context extremely poor performance.
Hi all,
I curently have a big problem. One request (listed above) using context
take up to 1000 more time than the on RAW or ext2 database. I have ran
this request on a single IA32 machine with Redhat and dbf on ext2. The
average reponse time is less than a sec. The same request on RAC 4 nodes
cluster on RAW take the same average time. On ext2 idem. But on OCFS it
took up to 15 sec randomly

performance when using securepath or powerpath
For those customers that are on this list and are using EMC Powerpath or
HP Securepath and have performance problems while using ocfs and point
to ocfs first.
the actual io overhead for an io on ocfs compared to raw, when it's
database io is negligable, we don't do any locking, we have about 40000
clockticks of processing from logical to physical offset, nothingin

OCFS Database too slow
Hi All,
we are using Red Hat 2.1 Kernel e38 along with MSA 1000.
ocfs version being used is
$ rpm -qa | grep ocfs
ocfs-tools-1.0.10-1
ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.12-1
ocfs-support-1.0.10-1
Database Version is 9.2.0.5
However we find that the performance of the database on OCFS is too slow. even a select count(1) from all_tables takes like a while to complete.
We initially assumed RAC is

ocfs issues with 9.2.0.3
I am starting to see a few issues with OCFS and 9.2.0.3 RAC on
redHat Linux AS 2.1. Wondering if there is anyone out there
experiencing similar issues...
a few pointers to the issues..
1. OCFS read/write performance is way lower than a read/write to a raw
device.. i can give you some comparison numbers..
2. Writes to shared disk with ocfs would get locked up by one server..
it doesnt have to

idmap_rid problem - winbindd_sid_to_uid: Could not get uid for sid
In a ADS(Adv Serv 2003) setup with a few linux members, I'd like to achieve
consistent UIDs for domain users across these linux machines, and idmap_rid
seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. However, I cannot get winbind to
create uids or gids from SIDs at all. Any hints?

Icecast 404 in the stats page
Hi,
When I open the stats page on the icecast server, I get the basic info,
but images and stuff generate 404's, although all the files are there
and readable by the user that icecast runs under:
This one works:

I''m speccing some code which monkey-patches initialize on

problem with read.genepop function
I'm trying to use the package ARES to produce allelic richness
estimates with extrapolation beyond the sample size. I've begun by
testing the program with the butterfly_borneo data provided with the
package, but I seem to be having a problem with the read.genepop
function. Below, I've included my R code along with the error I
receive after trying to read the genepop file. I'm

Voicemail IMAP
I know some of this doesn't belong on this list, but I am just
including it for problem history.
I am trying to setup IMAP Voicemail with our email server.
We are using a non-standards based groupware server called FirstClass.
The server has some built in support for IMAP.
My problem seems to be that the authuser flag is not supported.
When I use mtest in the imap toolkit to connect to

Why is asterisk (1.4.17) not honouring the priority and not failing over

Ices Crashing (BUS error)
Hi,
I'm currently migrating from Shoutcast/MP3 to Icecast/OGG/Vorbis using ices.
Unfortunately, when initialising the encoder, ices crashes with a bus error.
Is there anything I can look into?

ices-2.0.0,1
libshout2-2.0_5,1
libogg-1.1.2_1,3
libvorbis-1.1.0_1,3

OCFS and LVM2
Hi Everyboy !
I read that LVM2 is not cluster aware (specially with OCFS2) from different
post on internet forum... If it's true, could someone could confirm this
information and point me where i can find this affirmation in documentation
?
I do some test with OCFS2 on LVM2 and it's seems to run correctly , so i
have some interrogation about this fact !
If it's true that LVM2 are

Hi, using ocfs-2.4.9-e-smp-1.0.12-1 on Redhat 3 U4
Trying to copy files from an ocfs volume to an ext3 volume is very very slow
- talking a couple of minutes for a 100Mb file.
same happens if I use o-direct or not, dd exhibits the same behaviour
ocfs is in the updatedb.conf and both filesystems are in the PRUNEPATHS line
in the same file (a reboot was done after the changes were made just to

Puppet and installing packages from source
Hello Everyone,
I''m looking for a way to install packages from source via puppet, I was
able to locate maybe 5 posts on this subject which is very strange, as I
would expect people to still use ./configure with their own customized
options.
For example, I need to compile Curl with c-ares support, for that I need to
set an option for ./configure but can''t find a way to do it.
